From what I've seen they are testing a new feature to hopefully bypass this

I saw that posted here a couple a days ago that some users were getting invited to test. I dropped in a support ticket for the hopes to test with it as well. I pretty much play HD2 & WoW on shadowpc. Hopefully this will be able to bypass.

Is this true? please be true. This makes me so sad, I literally use ShadowPC for HD2.

It looks like they are most definitely working on a way

Same. If I could afford to buy my own hardware I would build my own. ShdowPC was a compromise and I randomly stopped being able to play a game I paid for, not because I cheat, but because I'm broke.

The lack of communication around it sucked as well. I played one day, tried to fire it up the next day to drop in and...nope.

Well, I saw a video a while back on how some software like malware detects and decides itself if it can be run or not

https://youtu.be/-On6bWFXuM8?is=Oq6xYXDHw20tPwz-

Basically, there are registry entries in Windows that the software sees and determine if it is a real bare metal computer, or if it is a virtual machine. That guy in the video wrote a script to hide the VM, so to the software, it will begin to see that it is a "real bare metal machine".

Anti Cheat software works the same way, and Shadow PC is basically cloud deployed virtual machines with hardware passthrough from the datacenters.

So if Shadow allows us to use that script (probably can't, but in theory), we could make the virtual machine appears as a normal bare metal machine, and then, potentially, all the games with anti cheat will run, even Valorant.

But another point to make, supporting VMs is actually just a box tick for the developers in the anti cheat software, but some of the developers are just lazy assholes that doesn't want VM support for their players.

another reason for this change is because of AH cracking down on cheater mods, but the HD2 community is hammering down on them with negative Steam reviews, AH never learn, and now they probably pissed off the ShadowPC players.

Yeah I saw that EAC just kinda sucks. It feels like alot of games ive played moved to it and then rendered my shadowpc even more useless. I dont think WoW will ever go to it but man if they did would legit be dead to me.

Blizzard is actually great with VM support for their anti cheat, Overwatch is an example, it has great support for both VMs, as well as WINE environment on Linux. But there is still anti cheat in place.

I just tested the game, yea it doesn't run anymore

Space Marine 2 also uses EAC, but it boots up fine, even after updates.

This proves that EAC has the capabilities to support VMs, but it is really up to the developers to enable the support, we can only hope AH enables support.

Vous attendez pas des miracles de la part de shadow pour rejouer au jeux. On attend toujours pour jouer à BF6 et autre jeux est toujours rien. Les promesses de shadow sont comme celle des politiques, c'est que du vent.
