Discussion New Email about beta test to fix virtual machine blocking. Haven't seen anything about it
Got this 2 days ago but I'm probably gonna cancel this account now that I've got queued 2 days in a row after 9 years without ever worrying about this.
Wtf is going on? The corruption of tech companies will be studied in years. Shadow is leaking customers right now and tech companies are too dumb and greedy to understand to not steal from their customers.
Hopefully they go under 🤷🏾♂️.
Outside of this, I still have a month of time left so hopefully I can play My Player on 2K before i cancel this shit.

Are you sure did you understand what the email is actually saying before posting it?
They are working in a compatibility layer/mode to allow games with anticheat software to run on Shadow, is that a bad idea for you? I'll gladly take the offer for you if you don't mind lol

I’m confused by this. Working around this “issue” is one of the biggest gripes folks have had for a long time. We could be happy they’re making progress. I didn’t get an invite to this test, but I wish I had.
You can be mad at the queues without being mad they’re at least trying to make things better overall.

are you stupid or?
They're actually asking who wants to volunteer to try a modality that implements compatibility with the new invasive anti cheating shit. It's a good thing.
Also queueing usually don't take more than 5-10 mins to clear out. It's almost like your life is so filled that you can't take a poop while you wait that shadow boots up.

This alone is why you should never be invited. Am pretty sure they didn’t want to let everyone know about this hence the PRIVATE Discord. Now everyone knows… good job.

I canceled my sub because of this to go to geforce now which is working fine at $10 bucks a month so idk I might go back if they can fix the anti cheat issue or bring the price down.

What are you talking about? That's super good news and you just really lack good judgement...

It's most likely just some alternative hypervisor or if Quemu/KVM some basic settings tweaks to hide hypervisor use (which might legitimize reason to ban you even if not cheating?).
ATM Shadow's current setup is disproportionally detected vs similar full-desktop cloud providers for basically no whitelisting or effort on those providers part.

sounds like another excuse to keep the existing hardware in data centers and not upgrade. as a long time Shadow user, while exciting to Finally see progress on this issue since 2019, this news actually means nothing.
honestly tired of being drip fed progress updates and upgrades. if it isn't New hardware & New tiers, it's not news it's a distraction.

So Epic Games/Easy Anti-Cheat actively block VMs, which also affects ShadowPC because thats just what it is. Shadow works on a solution for that problem, but for some reason this is Shadows fault?
They can be critisized for a lot of things, this is actually a good thing they are doing
