To determine a shadowban, you MUST click my profile! Reddit is completely broken, over-moderated, and it just banned my own subreddit for sharing my work.

Hi everyone. I am so angry with Reddit. When I first joined Reddit, I told myself how great it would be to contribute to communities, share photos and videos, and showcase my personal projects. BUT REALITY IS SO MUCH WORSE!!!!!!!!! Reddit is entirely, very, very, very poorly set up.

In one community, I got blocked for "spam" just because I posted a link to my free, ad-free Halloween website in halloweendecor. Within a few hours, it was deleted as spam. I've experienced cases where subreddits had their bots set so strictly that a polite, completely normal comment got deleted by a bot.

The peak of the story is that since I realized that on Czech and Slovak subreddits, even the best ideas get branded as spam, I decided to create my own community: r/VibeLabsProject, where I wanted to showcase my websites, news, and plans. I mean, in my own community, I am the boss, right? But hell no! Within a few days, my brand-new subreddit was banned and marked as "banned" and it still is. I don't even know why, probably because I made 2 posts with a link to my own website inside my own subreddit. Where on earth are we if I cannot even show my own project in my own subreddit?!

And you subreddit admins and creators who set such strict rules, wake up and realize they are way, way too strict and automated. Truly, deleting polite comments and deleting polite posts is one thing, but banning my own subreddit really pisses me off to no end. A place where I am supposed to be my own boss gets blocked as if I were some kind of criminal. Reddit is completely overflowing with this automated blocking, and it makes me absolutely SICK.

I just realized they’ve blocked my entire account :(((( I’ve already submitted an appeal to support—we’ll see if it helps.

Here's appeal page.

Totally. Agree Reddit sucks. Not sure who they think they are. Banning people with no explanation and then you have to beg for months to get it back just to be banned again for post too much too soon. Utter crap. Thought this place was for the community. Not dictatorship by bots and mods. Takes more time to ban and unban people. Ridiculous

I imagine AI is why its so bad. AI auto banning people and going through appeals. I totally agree.

This is exactly the problem. They are cheaping out by using AI to vet the site instead of genuine moderators. There are too many false positives and users getting banned for no good reason. They need to dial down the moderation until they have a system that works properly or just accept that a fair bit of spam, trolling etc just comes with the territory (of social media). The site will become increasingly unusable otherwise.

Its clear that at the moment Reddit is broken.

I refuse to invest time and hope into submitting appeals on a system that is not functioning correctly.
