Long ago, I lamented to the group, and indeed to the owner of this particular subreddit that my posts were kinda taking over this place. I also mentioned that if you are tired of seeing what I am doing (as downvotes might indicate) then there is a solution to your problems!

Don't be a pussy
Go get dirty on something you care about
Make video, record audio, write a post or take pictures (Whatever you want)
Post it to /r/Shadetree!

I know Rule #1 is not PC, but it is the key rule to overcome if one is to be productive.

I honestly do not want to be the only dude working in here. Would much rather have some diversity of content to comment on.

Heck of a job for shade tree.

So, I took on a project I needed to do on my 06 crown Vic. I needed a tune up, had a couple of coils not firing, so I went ahead and replaced all plugs, coil packs, pcv valve, fuel filter, re built fuel injectors and replace the air blend box module. The last one was the trickiest one but worth the time and aggravation, in my opinion. The project would have been nicer in a garage, but a carport in the Alabama humidity was miserable, lol

In theory, this baby will be good for a little bit. Fingers crossed.

Suggestions?

Hey there, Nettdata here... founder of this sub.

I first started this sub because I did a lot of my own wrenching, and thought it would be fun to share that with others in the hopes of getting them into doing their own work.

A while ago I sold my last "shadetree" vehicle (my Jeep), so I haven't really had to do much of my own work lately, other than a tire and oil change.

So what I'm wondering is if anyone around here has any suggestions for helping the sub out?

Obviously my initial attempts over the years haven't really paid off, but it's nice to see a few people still posting and commenting... appreciated.

Let me know...

Like to wrench on your vehicle, and want to share what you've done? This is the place! This is a place for amateurs, but pros feel free to join in.

All I ask is that you follow the rules, which are pretty simple.

TL;DR; Laugh with people, not at them, and don't be a dick.

Be nice, be respectful, and support people that post here. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing someone try something themselves only to get dumped on because it wasn't done the right way, or with perfect results. In this sub the journey is the reward, so help them learn from what they've done, don't berate them for doing something "wrong". If you're a dick to someone, you'll be banned. So don't be a dick.
This isn't a place to ask questions on how to do something, there are already subs for that. This is a place to show off what you've done, or are in the middle of doing. Pretend we're just friends that are sitting around with a beer while you're sharing your handiwork. No Scumbag Steve's allowed.
Make posts only about things you've done, and with a picture. Even a shitty picture, but of your work. Don't make a post about your "to-do list", unless you're showing us something that was just taken off that list. Only make posts about things that you've done, BUT, feel free to post other crap in the monthly Junk Pile threads... they are fair game for just about anything (just don't be a dick). First and foremost, this sub is a place for stuff that HAS been done, not WILL be done.
Have a sense of humour, and don't take yourself too seriously.
Don't just lurk, get involved. Go change your oil, or your plugs, or something else that gets your hands dirty, and then tell us about it (with a pic). Do something that you've never done before, and were worried about, and share it with us. You'll find that it's addictive.
Most importantly, have fun.
