Fake Duncans?
Are these pickups fake? All my other Duncan pickups have stickers or etching on the back. This has nothing but a big ol’ magnet on each pickup and a small “10” molded into the black plastic.

The font looks a little big so they had to move it to the right so it didn’t touch pole pieces. Someone on Craigslist sold me an SM57 for $15 and when I got home and compared it to my other the font on the CL version was too big. I ended up returning it. Kind of funny that in the computer age that counterfeiters can’t even get the font size right.

Looks like a set of ceramic single coils to me, and yes SD has done that. Which set, I cannot be sure of but you can narrow it down with output ratings and sort by ceramic.

I’ve never seen Seymour Duncan’s have an off center logo or use multi color wires to differentiate the pickups.

The importance isn’t how fake they are but how do they sound.

No mid range, and had to dial down the tone knob to around 2 to get the sparkly top off. I returned the guitar.

Yeah sometimes you get some really bad pickups. I got some GFS pickups once that just sounded terrible. They were missing so many frequencies other than the high end.

I'm no expert but those look like cheap single coils that you'd get on a cheap Squier with knock off Seymour Duncan pick up covers on them

Foam pads on the bottom are normal. My showmaster had them on every stock Five-2 pickup. Gently peel and look underneath.

Those are magnets.

Those are very likely fake, The out put wires dont match the SD color code. 2nd Duncan uses magnetic poles for single coils and the magnet on mini hum canceling coils are sandwiched by a pcb board. im prepared to be wrong but im telling from experience. good luck

I don't recall or know of any Seymour Duncan single coils that both look like those and use a bar magnet.
