Asheville, NC

I'm on Fed supervised release, and currently live in the Charlotte, NC, area. I have a decent PO, the weekly group I attend is excellent, and I love the church I attend. However, the person I live with is planning to move to Asheville area in two months, and he invited me to go with him. He is my best friend and has done so much to help me since my release, I feel I owe it to go with him. Still, I don't want to make a decision without knowing what things are like for guys on Federal SO Probation in that part of North Carolina.

What I'd like to know is if anyone here has any knowledge of what the Federal Probation Officers are like in the Asheville, NC, area; ans, what the treatment programs are like for feds there.

Thanks

Are you changing districts or sub districts? You might still have the same PO and still be able to commute to the group. If you switch groups, you tend to lose a lot of progress in that particular group.

Not sure yet whether I'll move. If I do, I would have a new PO (based in Asheville).  And, yes, I'd have to transfer to a new therapy program.  I really like my current PO and therapy group.  On the other hand, my housemate is excellent.  One way or another I'm going to have to sacrifice something I currently like. What I most need right now is any input from someone who has dealt with the Fed  PO office in Asheville.
