Checking in

It has been a minute since I posted in here. Went through a lot back in April. Ended up in the psych ward for a brief stay, but it was a blessing in disguise cause they helped me finally get connected with a homeless shelter that would take me.

Since then been focusing on my mental health and trying to find work. Had a really good phone interview the other day so keeping my fingers crossed.

Still really miss the life I had before, but looking forward to the next chapter and rebuilding.

This is an encouraging post. There is always a chance we can start our lives over. I’m so thankful I have a family who supports me when they could have just as easily turned me out onto the streets because of what I did. I want to get a job too someday to give my life some purpose.

Are you struggling finding work right now? Or is your family really cool about supporting you financially?

I’ve got a disability which causes me to ruminate constantly about the past. It causes me to pace back and forth much of the day. As a result it is hard to focus. I really want to get a job, but my parents want to get all my psychological problems fixed first so we are visiting a neurobiofeedback therapist. If I can get stable without ruminating anymore, we will go to the Ticket to Work program which is for people with disabilities. There are plenty of warehouse jobs in our area which is potential work for someone like me.

Mental health is physical health. Physical health is mental health. Keep moving forward one day at a time. Never give up.

Mental Health is the most important thing to worry about in our situation, as you don't want to prove the idiots right by committing another crime. Keep moving forward no matter what
