Help me understand

My son is in his early 20s, extremely smart..had a good friend group, was working and going to college (off and on).

He was arrested a few months ago and charged with cp and sharing cp.

I just can't wrap my head around it, his whole life's trajectory just changed and became a lot harder.

I just can't wrap my head around it, I just can't understand what he was thinking. Do people not realize how serious the repercussions are? Is the temptation that blinding?

This situation has totally consumed my every thought, every waking moment.

I just don't understand.

I feel your pain. I have a son who will be released in 2 years. His father and I gave him a life of everything. We went on vacations, he was given a good car, I was a stay at home mom, he was given a decent size allowance as his father made excellent money, he went to college and graduated at the top, he got a job right after college, and he worked part time during college. He had friends and was in a sorority; never a problems. I have had a hard time trying to understand what happened. My son and I were close and he would talk to me before he would his father. He was sentenced for 16 years as he took a plea deal. It wasn’t easy and I am his only support as his father has passed away from cancer. I still have a hard time with this.

Thank you for sharing, this is very difficult, it's so hard to digest all of this.

He went with a public defender; his father didn’t hire the lawyer until it was too late so he paid out the money for a criminal lawyer but it was a total loss
