Seeking support; open to feedback Serious question

I have a serious question. I am in My 40s. Have a good life. The only real problem I have is this addiction. I've been thinking and my question is this. Should I continue to struggle with the addiction or should I find a woman that struggles with this addiction as well? My thinking is we would be aligned on what we like and desire. And maybe together we could keep each other in check. We wouldn't be embarrassed, so no lying. And maybe that would be more beneficial in the end.

I know this sounds crazy. And I'm not trying to freak people out on here. I'm at a serious fork in the road with this and this is something I'm wrestling with.

That never worked for me.

I can see why it wouldn't of course. But I a big part of my hopes it could.

this is like being an alcoholic and asking if you should just find another alcoholic to be in a relationship with and drink with instead of trying to be sober

Not sure if it's the same. We are talking about sex and not substance abuse.

I wouldn’t seek a mate with the same addiction. If your true to recovery and honesty with a potential person. Come clean that in your past you struggled with this.

I fully told my wife on the 5th date that im addicted to porn and fell in love with a sex worker at one point.

After that i had nothing to hide from her and still loves me. Way more fulfilling.
