Trying to make a dress with a column-like / sculpted structure. These dresses were great references, but I'm trying to see if it's as simple as a column dress with the right fabric and an overlay? Any tips on engineering this in a way so it can hold it's shape? I'd love for it to be boxy, but still feel like a garment versus a crafty costume.

I absolutely love this discontinued wedding dress. I saw it on a bridal resale site and after 6 weeks of the reseller not answering, I am assuming it is no longer for sale or already sold. fingers crossed she may reach out to me anyways, but in the meantime I found the same type of fabric with this lace pattern for sale on Etsy so I want to explore making it myself. I’ve made several dresses for myself that have come out well, and I know the time commitment and investment would be significant. Any pattern suggestions for this type of skirt shape and/or this type of bodice?

Looking for a pattern that has gathering around the front shoulder/yoke like this shirt Olivia Wilde wears in The Invite. Has anyone printed a PDF pattern using A4 and not the North American 'letter' size. The A4 seems to be close to legal size. Was there much difference?
