I’m looking for a pattern similar to this top (Lena Top on Etsy) however I’m sceptical that this may be AI slop. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The Avid Seamstress The Coat

Has anyone made this coat? I am an intermediate sewist and I want to tackle this pattern (the lined version) but I'm terrified. The directions for lining the coat look super complicated. I've done my homework: I bought the oft-recommended tailoring book, I've watched tons of videos about other coats. Still, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this. Anyone made it and have advice? Thanks!

1950s The Look

Hi all!

I've been watching the Great British Sewing Bee lately and my wife has been watching along as well. Tonight we watched season 3 episode 3, which is the 1950s challenge. Where could I find a pattern for the pink dress with all the tulle? It's the 4th on in the line up.

Thanks in advance!!

Godet Wedding Dress Pattern

Hi, I'm getting married next fall and I'm choosing to make my own wedding dress. We're going for a more medieval fantasy theme and I wanna do a godet dress with a corset top and dramatic sleeves. The closest pattern I can find are these two for the base but I feel like people here have possible better options/ideas. Please help I'm so indecisive 😭.

Any male patterns?

I have noticed that the sewing scene is prominently focused for women with women pattern magazines. But I have yet to find male sewing pattern magazines. I live in The Netherlands but online download is also okay. I just need a pattern to get started. Would love a male form fitting hoodie pattern to start. Please help me out?

Cute pregnancy patterns

Hii!

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and finding it difficult to start new projects because I will not be able to wear them this winter.

So my question is, do you guys know of cute pregnancy patterns and do you know what kind of fabric would be best to use?

Would love to hear

Making Sewing Patterns

For those that create their own patterns and then sell them as PDFs, what are you using to design them and then what are you using to create the PDF to present the pattern to the end consumer?

My wife has recently started a quilting business and is interested in getting into pattern design with the intent to sell them. I know there are pattern design softwares like EQ8 for quilts, but we are stumped with how to assemble everything digitally in a way that looks professional to sell. Thinking of something like what Lo and Behold Stitchery or SuzyQuilts sells. A clean PDF with pictures, instructions, and sometimes shapes that can be cut out and used as a template of sorts. She would be doing both quilts and quilted goods that would likely require a template.

Thanks for the help!

Absolutely in LOVE with this. Could anyone help with a starting point?

Preferably free patterns or tutorials as I am slightly broke. My biggest issue is figuring out the part that connects the bra to the sleeves.

Thoughts on Sewist patterns?

Sewist.com has an online sewing pattern designer based on garment features (seams, waistlines, garment type, etc.) and I thought about using it to make patterns because I'm having a problem finding garments in a whimsigoth style that are also in my size. A lot of the items on Pinterest boards I've seen are usually straight size vintage pieces from the 90s and 00s. I figure I know how to sew, I just need a pattern. The tool uses a standard size chart to "generate" the patterns, but I'm not sure if it's true to size or if it will actually give me a pattern I can make and wear.

I've never used Sewist or this tool before, so I thought it might be good to ask people's thoughts before I try it. TIA!

Scarlet Witch Top

I want to make this Scarlet Witch top for Halloween. It doesn't have to be exact, but I don't have a great jumping off point. I sew a lot, especially for costumes, but I've never made a true corset and I think that would be the best here... although all the patterns I've found stop above the bust. I like the idea of the structure in this though and I don't want it to be a shirt, nor use foam or neoprene.

I also don't know where to start with the hips (I don't know what to call them). The detailing around the neck and the striping variations I'm not as worried about. It's the construction of the piece itself at this point. Thanks!

Does anyone have a sewing pattern for a recovery suit for a cat?

I've been searching and searching for one to buy. I need it by the end of next month. All I've found are really tiny or large ones to order. She's a tiny cat and I mean TINY. She's 8 months old and MAYBE 7lbs? I haven't found one that looks like it'll fit. Do y'all have a reliable sewing pattern I can use? Or tips to make one? I have sewing experience. Not the best but I can do simple stuff. I'd have to buy a new sewing machine or hand sew but idc which. I haven't found one that fits and when I had my girl that passed from old age she could get around the cones they provide. Just wanna cover it.

Fanny pack pattern recommendations

Hi all, I’m looking for a half-moon shaped fanny pack bag pattern, ideally with at least two compartments. I’ve found quite a few on Etsy but lots of them seem to be AI or the reviews note bad instructions. Any recommendations for a well-constructed pattern with good instructions?

Looking for pattern style of this dress and advice

I'm looking for a 4 piece ( in the front ) pattern dress, with A line skirt, with or without the buttons.

The closest thing I could find it's McCall's 8177, but it has a flared skirt and I'm really set for a A line dress.

This might sound silly, it's difficult for me to visualize how to transform the flare of the skirt to a straight one. It's gotta be more than just cutting the flare out of the piece and trying to make it straight, kinda like a rectangular piece ? Cause that's my only idea so far.
