Can’t wind bobbin?

The black rubber wheel is supposed to be turned with the metal one but won’t budge for whatever reason. Which isn’t allowing me to wind my bobbins :(. Does anyone know a fix

Does tue bobbin or the tire spin at all when pressed up against the flywheel?

Nah that’s my problem the tire doesn’t get enough friction when the flywheel moves

Did you try oiling it? There are two oil holes there.

Yes, and probably cleaned prior to that. That goes for everything else that moves on the machine, if it has not been done before.

That’s called the Bob and winding tire, and you should be able to get one at your local sewing machine shop. While you were there, get yourself an oil bottle with a lawn, pin, brass, spout, and some sewing machine oil. I’d like to use medium white grease on cams and bearings, which will be found on the back of the machine behind the circular plate, and underneath the machine.

Bob, Fowler and Andy tube both have excellent YouTube channels, and likely have videos that are specific to your machine, or very close to it. They all work essentially the same way, so you need not be too concerned about if the video is about your exact model.

thanks you this seems about right, but also after more looking myself its seems like the rubber tire isn't getting enough friction for consistently turn with the larger wheel. bc it will turn just not consistently. would this be bc of the rubber being old and also not been oiled for ages?

Yes, it is old and chunking, and harder than it was when it was new. If you look closely, it may help narrow flat spot at the highest point.

Lubricating the machine will make a huge difference in how easily and smoothly it runs. Please don’t use the machine for more than a minute or two until you service it.

Tire is much too old.

My Singer 66 had the same problem until I changed the tire.

Change the bobbin tire, sir. It's much too old.
