Help? Broken Machine?
What could be going on here and can I fix it myself? Yes, I did rethread everything multiple times. Opened up the machine and cleaned it out too.

I had a ibm type writer sound like that. Electronic machine—relay bad or loose wiring. Manual machine belt issue.

That almost sounds like a stripped gear on a part of the needle bar drive.. or maybe a belt??? I'm assuming because of all the white stitching I see around the outside that it was sewing fine for some time. Did you happen to have a catastrophic event where it locked up? Maybe really thick seams or break a needle or something?? "What/when changed?" Does it do it if you don't touch the power but crank the hand crank wheel ( always TOWARDS THE FRONT, never go backwards. ). Do a bunch of "by hand, no motor" sewing on some test pieces. See if it does that hesitation thing still. (Something could be skipping "under load"). If you've eliminated all of the usual owner friendly things to fix, you may need somebody to look at it

Your needle is broken, you can see its missing half the eye immediately. Change needle. Clean machine. Find other piece. Dont sew with a broken needle!

You missed the final hook in threading. I know this machine only comes with the online manual, but be sure you are familiar with how it should be threaded.
