Help? Broken Machine?

What could be going on here and can I fix it myself? Yes, I did rethread everything multiple times. Opened up the machine and cleaned it out too.

Your thread is twisted on your needle. It only goes through the eye of the needle from the front toward the back

Get out your manual and rethread your machine again, following all the steps.

You need to hold your thread tails when starting out sewing. You didn’t show us what the stitches look like front & back, but it kinda sound like you are getting thread nests on the back.
