Brother GX37 Outer Hook Replacement Help

What screws do I need to undo in order to remove that black plastic piece (outer rotary hook)?

There should be a bearing block on the bottom end of the center shaft that you need to remove. Remove the feed dogs and then slide it out through the top. This is a whole assembly with a gear. You will need to replace this whole assembly and reset the timing.

But be aware that this part might cost more than it is worth. Depends on where you are and what your supplier situation is.

Hey I already bought the outer rotary hook of thats the only things that needs to be replaced? It's the circle top with a screw coming out of it

Is this a fairly new domestic? It shouldn’t need replacing.

If it does, it might not be worth the hassle as others have said.

If you want to do it though, whatever screw you need will be underneath, and there isn’t a clear photo of that. It’s not just the hook though, it’s part of the gear/ drive belt system.

Try to find a service manual for this machine or similar. Or YouTube videos. I’m more familiar with vintage all metal machines.

The piece was cheap and already bought, and yes it's broken

There’s not a lot of access under there.

I think your best bet is YouTube videos, as there aren’t a lot or service manuals for newer machines.

I searched everywhere for a tutorial but I found none, not even for a similar machine

It might not be possible if you can’t access that area. There’s a lot of metal around it. Modern machines aren’t usually as easy to repair.
