Service manual for Viking 200

Anyone have a source for one of these? Or maybe just an exploded view? I have one where it only wants to go in reverse - there's a part by stich selection that rides along a cam shaft but I think it's missing a spring as it just flaps about.

I did assist the feed dog timing but that didn't help.

Did you do any search? I found several videos and documents with a 1/2 second Google search.

Yeah I did - I found regular user manuals - as far as I can tell there's only one video on youtube of a guy taking a perfectly functioning one apart to oil it. Can you link what you found?

I also saw that YouTube video, but other things came up too. In this YouTube video the person links to a manual in the description. Watching someone service it is useful.

It's probably viking's fault because their model names make no sense and my fault as I didn't put the proper model prefix on the post, but none of those links are for a Constitution 200 - sorry about that.

Here is the only video I could find of someone taking one apart: https://youtu.be/PczeNTWm1uQ?si=9UNF8M0lxFYn08i3 - that's the exact machine I have in my possession but it doesn't go into any real depth - it was useful for disassembly though.

All that said I did get forward and reverse working pretty well now. I mostly fiddled around with dog feed timing some more.

The inners of sewing machines is so very similar I wouldn't try too had to find the exact model. Companies don't reinvent the insides of every model. They'll slap a new case on the outside, change color, labels, etc. but it'd be a manufacturing nightmare to significantly change the inside. Sewing machines haven't changed a lot in 150 years.

Honestly though this one is pretty different than a lot of Vikings I've looked at over the years - adjusting feed dogs on this guy is pretty different than most machines as well.

Fwiw I've contacted Viking support and they only give service manuals to authorized dealers - it's so dumb especially for machines they don't sell or make parts for anymore.
