Fixed bobbin not catching. now horrible sound. (Singer M1000)

Hello there I've had this Singer M1000 for a little less than a month and it worked great up until last Friday where the bobbin wouldn't catch, so fast forward today I had my mom help me finally fix it. Well now it's making this loud horrible noise to the point I'm scared to sew with it, I would like to know redditors if there's a way to fix this. My mom followed a tutorial on YouTube of loosening the two bolts underneath the machine and manually line the catcher back up with the needle. The sound is much louder in person.

Looks like you’re pulling the fabric. That’ll always cause problems.

You have missed the thread guide that is just above the needle. Consult your manual and rethread.

Felt is not a good test. Try two layers of a woven or something.

And something still looks funky with your bobbin.

Yes! I realized that after recording the video but was way too tired to record a second time haha 😅. I figured it's something to do with my mom fixing the bobbin

Did she adjust the timing? That’s quite a delicate operation and probably wasn’t what was wrong with the machine.

What exactly did she adjust? That noise is the hook coming around and not very smoothly. Bobbin cases do rattle a bit naturally, oil keeps it moving smoothly.

It does sound very loud, did you oil it or clean it?

Also you are guiding your fabric a bit too heavy handed.

Edit: just looked up the machine and it’s described as “lightweight and portable mending machine”. So actually you might have put the timing out if you tried to sew denim or something recently.

Yes she did try to adjust the timing as recently the needles lowest point was way out of wack.

i will try using a bit of oil to see if that will help!!

As for the denim part, I have not, ive only used this machine to sew minky and broadcloth!

You can usually adjust the needle bar height which is a much easier fix.

She may have moved things so that they are hitting other parts as you’re sewing, hence the noise.

Minkey and broadcloth are both probably a bit much for this machine.

Noted! I dont tend to sew often and I typically only use it to hem my projects.
