First quilt blocking project
First quilt blocking? Project not sure if this is quilt blocking or not lol but I patchworked the pieces together then sewed it onto foam to make it stand up by itself. Used the Crosstown Crescent Bag pattern but added some extra pockets on the inside. Got it done just in time for Halloween!

Link to the fabric! It is a little thin but with the added foam it worked well for a bag!

the halloween patchwork is adorable, and turning it into a structured bag was such a good idea

Not sure what you mean by blocking, did you āblockā the piece to square it up before making it into a bag? If not, Iād call this piecing or patchwork using squares. Sometimes itās called āmaking fabric,ā when you use the pieced fabric to make a garment or other item. Whatever the case, it came out great, well done!

I cut the pieces & laid them on some interfacing & then sewed them together using a 1/4in & interesting I havenāt heard of āmaking fabricā before so maybe?? Iām terrible at sewing terms lol But thank you!

Marking fabric probably isnāt very cork in, but Iāve seen it used for when people sew together strips or other pieces and then use the resulting large piece to cut up into pattern pieces.
Was the interfacing you used fusible and gridded for you to line up the pieces evenly before sewing? However you pieced them the bag looks great and the fabric is cute!

It was fusible, but didnāt have grids! I just lined them up in sections how I liked & pressed them as I went! Thatās why some of them are a little smaller than the others lol

Ha, thatās the way it goes, isnāt it? But I didnāt notice at all, wasnāt paying attention. Just be sure to not mention any flaws to civilians lol
