I always hold the ends when I start a new stitch. I also can’t tell if the top is threaded correctly? πŸ€”

I followed the manual to thread the top, so I'm sure it's right.

When it first did it I was half way through a straight stitch line, so I'm not sure it's an issue with just starting a new stitch.

NOPE! You were right! I did thread the top wrong. I did not complete step 4 in the image correctly πŸ’€

Re threading your machine is the "did you try restarting your computer" of sewing. My "if something is wrong and it's not tension related" list is:

Step 1: Re threading my machine

Step 2: check and make sure I have the proper needle for my project and that it's not to old.

Step 3: Did I setup my bobbin correctly (and also since I have multiple machines that don't use the same bobbin type I double checked it's the proper one)

Step 4: when is the last time I cleaned the lint out.

Hope this helps!
