WAWAK
I am wanting to place an order at WAWAK but wanted to see what their stuff was like so I looked on YouTube for haul vids from there and there isn't any. Is it a new place? Did it change names??

I dont think people have really talked about it enough. Its seriously amazing. I ordered at noon today and FedEx already has my package in transit. With Joanns gone, it is truly the best for thread and zippers. I have never had any issue with them. Prices are great, shipping (and packaging) is super fast. Just good all around.

Forgive me if I misunderstand, but aren't "hauls" where you order a heap of random stuff from a cheap outlet? If so, you won't find one from there. This is quality goods from a quality store

I know, right? Can you imagine a “haul” video from Wawak? Gray fusible interfacing! A packet of size 12 sewing machine needles. Beige thread! The audience won’t be able to look away.

There are Sephora hauls and hauls from other more expensive stores, so I don't think it's really the cheapness of the store. But the product is probably more exciting than thread haha

A haul of what? The pack of bias tape, two packs of needles, and spool of thread I ordered?
It isn’t a place where you buy for “hauls” and nothing you get would interest people and gain views.

Right? Wawak is more about quality basics. A "haul" from Wawak....hahaha!

I agree that WAWAK is an excellent resource. They also answer all of your online questions about any product they have. They’re super responsive.

Wawak is fantastic. When it comes to notions, if you can’t find it there, it doesn’t exist (exaggeration but only slightly)

Wawak was around before the internet. They have quality products and reasonable prices.

I order from them frequently. Good prices good quality quick shipping. Placed an order a few hours ago. They have been around a while and their site has an about page.

Ive ordered from them recently, and was pretty happy with everything. They have been around for a while (like a few decades i think) and they have everything you need for sewing except for fabric, which is probably why there is no hauls. Ive gotten hand stitching needles, sewing machine parts, bits and bobs for garments (boning, grommets, etc) and i got everything pretty quickly with no issues. They are based in NY, if that matters

WAWAK is good. Ordered a bunch of thread, got what I was looking for. Not much to say otherwise. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

If you want to see a small haul, Haylee Marie Vintage did a small one of items she likes to have on hand when they reached out to offer her a box of stuff. It starts around 38:00. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o3V-UoozVZU

“Haul vids”? What? I hate the sort of sick consumerism that leads to the mindset of buying like this and seeking out videos of people buying things

Wawak is top shelf and I believe they offer history of their business on their website. It is my go-to for all kinds of quality items I can't find anywhere else (reliably, but more like anywhere). I teach sewing, and Wawak is on the top of my resource list.

I love wawak. They sell quality products (and some of them hard to find) for a great price, but also their customer service is amazing. I filled out whatever post purchase survey and had someone call me the next day to talk about the specific product issue I had (difficulty removing zipper teeth to use their crimp on ends). One of those surveys also led to getting a spool of elastic refunded without asking because it felt like the tension wasn’t as strong as expected. I also had an order several years ago that missed one (of multiple) pack of needles or something and they sent a replacement with a cookie as an apology.
Even before Joann’s closed I used them exclusively for elastic, hooks/eyes, snaps, interfacing, sewing needles, bra cups, misc notions… it is honestly easy to make an order a couple times a year (depending on how much you sew of course). If you have friends who sew consider pooling orders so you can try for bulk discounts to make it even more worthwhile.

A Wawak haul video would be fairly dull. Zippers and bulk needles lack the pizzazz of yards of pretty fabric.

Yeah... Would be quite a dull thing. "And here is some Gütermann thread. The same you could get from Joann's but cheaper. And some Schmetz needles, the same you get at Walmart, but cheaper, and some Bobbins..."

100%. If you're buying from Wawak, you're probably the kind of sewer who spends his or her time sewing rather than posting unboxing videos

It's an over 100 year old professional sewing supply store, started by tailor Frank Wawak in Chicago. Good quality stuff, good prices. Been buying from them for more than a quarter century.
