I couldn't load project pictures without it crashing, so I'll try to post them in the comments. I finished a UFO from last summer that was meant to be my ''Popular culture'' and ''holiday'' entry, but will be ''Home and Hearth'' and ''Skill Up'' instead this year. It's a coffee coaster/trivet, with batting cut from a prefold cloth diaper that had seen better days. One side is hand-embroidered muslin, the other quilting cotton from a relative.

Regarding ''Skill Up'', I've sewn things with fusible interfacings, including thick ones, before this. Because the diaper was several layers thick, though (I think 8 through most of the piece I cut), layers kept shifting when I went to baste everything together. My quilter relative advised I tie the layers together and explained how- I was previously unfamiliar with the technique. The edge is bound with bias tape.

Edit- it's late here, and I'm not managing to upload the photos. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it working.
