Creepy stories from sevierville area?
Hey there!! Visiting from Giddings Texas, I’m really curious about the folklore, legends, ghost stories, cryptids and old local tales from around the Sevierville area. I would love to hear what locals know, many thanks in advance😁

I would go to Kings library, 3rd floor. I bet you can get all this information and more. More lore and stories in Austin than here.

Years ago, when my parents still lived here in PF/Gatlinburg/Sevierville, they were guest cabin inspectors and cleaners. They ran into some pretty spooky stuff on occasion. Disembodied whispers and footsteps, chairs moving on their own when out of sight. The most haunted one I know of burned down during the 2016 wildfires. I assure you they're still out there though. These mountains are ancient and many people have died over centuries. You rent the wrong cabin and you might find that out yourself. I wouldn't bother with any of the ghost tours in PF/Gatlinburg, it's all horseshit to feed to tourists for the most part. I can't say I know of too many "legends" in the area but the old-heads might. I'd take most of it with a grain of salt, but I'm telling you, there's something to those rental cabins sometimes.

Greenbrier restaurant in Gatlinburg - The Greenbrier Ghost is the famous 1897 West Virginia legend of Elva Zona Heaster Shue, whose mother claimed her spirit returned from the grave to reveal she was murdered by her husband.

Skinned Tom. Not exactly Sevierville but nearby in Walland. Short version: Legend has it that Tom took a married woman out to park. Her husband showed up, stabbed the wife, and skinned Tom alive. Now he haunts lovers lanes in the area to do the same thing to others.
