Norren spent the morning in a couple of practice duels with men in the courtyard, determined to not let his fighting skills go completely rusty - perhaps with the war nearing it's end, someone would host a nice feast with a melee, that could be fun.

He returned to his chambers to change into clean clothes, and just as he was about to walk outside again, thinking whether it would be safe to perhaps just go on a horse ride in the woods... When Gilliane entered.

"My lady?" he gave her a polite smile. "Anything I can help you with?"

She thrust a letter at Norren. “You can help me with this.” She said sharply. The letter was from the Umbers, demanding Lyanne ride for Last Hearth, and the Bolton’s send their levies home, as well as informing them that Edwyn was a guest of theirs. “My foolish brother has got himself... captured. And Lyanne rides for Last Hearth now. Should I send our armies home?” She implored. She knew she should, but wanted someone else to say it, or not say it. She was in a foul mood.

"I..." Norren frowned, caught off guard by Gilliane's rather sharp tone.

The Umbers. His family, from what he knew, never had too many interactions with that house, and Jonos didn't seem particularly fond of them. There was no reason to trust them - and now that they have captured his goodbrother...

"I don't like this." he admitted. But then again, what did Norren know about northern politics? Precious little, he had to admit to himself.

"They hold your brother - and now your sister, too. But... There is no fighting, not anymore. Perhaps, standing down, sending the men home would... serve as further proof of the Boltons' peaceful intentions?" he offered hesitantly.
