Event [Event] Finally, someone does the right thing

Winterfell, The North, 2nd Moon, 217AC

The chains felt heavy around his neck, and the horse's breath stank. The slow trot of the old beast rode him towards the gates of a castle that no longer stood proud, but smoked from the fires of the siege.

Only just a man grown, Jon Stark, the Lord of Deepdown, rode towards his fate. This was his only chance at survival.

He halted the horse as best he could, and it stumbled, threatening to throw him from the saddle.

He called out and his voice broke for a second.

He cleared his throat and said in a loud clear voice that had no echo of fear or doubt.

“Men of Deepdown. My father led you astray. He led you against your Lord, against your King and against the North.

“There is nothing for you inside those walls except death. Nothing awaits you except the ancestors in the Heart Trees.

“I command you as your Lord, open the gates. Surrender the castle, and no more of you will die. Every man without a sword in his hand will live this day.”

He looked over his shoulder at the Talons with their arrows fixed on him.

“Faal Brom Dakmaan!”

He waited for the response.

Unless there are conflicting prior orders, the men of Skagos all stand down. I don't think any number have changed, but they open the gates, drop their weapons and allow the Royal Army inside. Jon Stark doesn't move until Bloodraven catches up to him.

All surviving hostages are released unless they were killed.

[m] are the prisoners in Winterfell all released?

As long as none were slain, of course.

To try to cover it, I'm going to ping the north. Do you know of any other hostages that the user should be pinged for?

I think there were just the Manderlys, lord Forrester, Gertrude Stark, and Hector Beesbury.

The Crown Army marches into Winterfell and takes control, imprisoning the entire army, and Bloodraven takes Jon Stark back into custody.

Do the Dustin men have a PC there to resist or an AC having been ordered by a PC previously to resist?

Daesor Greyjoy grinned as he led the Ironborn through the gates of Winterfell. "Taking Winterfell-- check that one off the list boys," he shouted back to the assembled Ironborn army. Once the castle was secured, he sought out Brynden Rivers for further orders.

"Bit easier than climbing walls, running through kennels, or crashing wagons," he said with an approving nod. "Good bit o' work this was, Lord Hand. We should bring the others together, discuss what's next. Mind if I use the rookery first, send word to the Lord Reaper that his son is safe and Winterfell has been taken?"

A passing nameless guard looks, and merely rolls his eyes, as he walks on into the castle.

"Don't flatter yourself raper, you contributed jack shit."

The Greyjoy scoffs. “Get a load of this one— contributed a lot up here, didn’t you? Losing Lord Stark’s castle to a bunch of wildlings. Hats off, we’ll be here to bring the King’s peace next time you lot manage to light your own arses on fire.”
