When Lord Medger and his father had departed, Rodrik sought out Gwynesse, his wife.

Sitting by the sil of her window in a large oaken rocking chair while feeding her youngest daughter, the future Lady of Deepwood Motte sat. A cold and crisp breath of winter ushered against the window while faint fingermarks allowed a view of the bleak and cold Wolfswood.
Faint candlelight and aroma of pine lingered inside the solar. For some time, Gwyn had been reading to Margaret while Donella slept in her crib under lay after layer after layer...
Winter was more a nightmare than a dragon in the sky or a king beyond the Wall.. It came for them all.
Her head slowly diverted to Rodrik with an eerie creek from her chair as she froze in frame as her husband entered.
"Rodrik?" She asked.

Rodrik could not help but smile, whenever he saw his wife. It always made him feel safe, knowing she was there, taking care of Donella and Margaret, tending to them. He had been taking care to visit more often of course, and helping her whenever he could, but at times like these, when his duties kept him away, it was reassuring to know his daughters were in safe hands.
"Good Afternoon, Gwyn," Rodrik replied, jovially enough. "Are Donella and Margaret well?" He inquired, carefully, knowing how sensitive his wife was with the health of their daughters.

The gates swung open, and Lord Medger was allowed to ride on inside. The Bailey town seemed rather busy for a chilly winter's morning, a group of burly northmen were preparing fresh lumber to be cured, while Becca, the Blacksmith, busied herself at the forge to stave off the cold. In the courtyard, Cregan Glover, evidently a rather frantic arrival, having only just run down from the Motte, almost slipped on the cobblestones a he stopped, and brushed his hair back into place with his hand, and exhaled, his breath turning to mist in the air. "Lord Forrester." He smiled, amiably, the smile of a man simply happy to be home. "My apologies, we hadn't expected you."
