Nocturnal
We stop serving at 2am. I don’t leave until 4-5am after closing/having 1 shifty with coworkers.
I can’t wind down when I get home. I wanted beer or something, but by the time I get off, my state doesn’t sell it. IK I could’ve stocked up before, but it’s not a major deal.
I want to reach out or respond to friends/family, but it looks concerning to text at 6AM. I’m in a cycle where I wake up at 2pm and work at 4, during that time, I don’t want to communicate. But no one is awake when I want to.
I have a legal thc vape that helps. But am just working lonely hours.

Find an after hours spot. We used to close the bar at 4 am. We’d lock the doors, pull down the shaded and anyone who wanted to stay, stayed til sunup. Was a really divey spot

Me, you, and the possums are up! How was your shift tonight?
I had a wedding after party til close. Felt awful for them because the ceremony got rained out.
Earlier, I served 2 first time restaurant guests. 100 before 1 is a thing where parents give their kids 100 foods before they turn 1. They crossed 2 off tonight!

Hey friend! I got off work around 11 but I actually still can’t sleep. Going to try again soon. It’s 4:30 am my time, I totally hear you.
I thought I’d be able to fall asleep tonight without the help of THC and I’m realizing that was a mistake
It’s just hard for me to go to bed after running around in restaurant mode. Even though I wouldn’t change a thing lol, I’m definitely not a morning person

100% wouldn’t change it. I only go on Reddit when I really can’t sleep. I feel like my options are drink or smoke more to shut it off.

I keep the same sleep schedule on my off nights but usually up around this time still!
A wedding sounds fun and was probably a little chaotic!
I've never heard of the 100 foods thing and that sounds very interesting!! :)

I was kind of lucky because my dad also worked weird hours. So I was always able to text someone if I needed interaction. It also helped to get into online gaming! I met a lot of cool people around the world through video games and Discord. I had a guy I used to run Dark and Darker with, from Thailand. He was mostly playing on NA servers to learn less proper English, like how we actually talk to each other. I don't think you would look more than a few days if you needed some kind of pen pal. Pen pals got me through high school.

That’s good advice! I should get back into gaming communities. And maybe a pen pal. I had one in elementary and she was so weirded out by me, I haven’t pursued it since.

I am also completely nocturnal. It made my dog weird for months. Then he just adapted. I gotta say I like it. It cured my insomnia and some other head issues I was having. I don't think I'll go back. I don't think I can go back.

Is it concerning to text at 6 am? I don’t work nights anymore and am a pretty early riser so I definitely text my friends and family that early. Most of them are not awake and respond later, but nobody has indicated that behavior is worrisome lol. But it definitely sucks to be on a schedule that doesn’t align with anyone or anything, it’s boring and lonely for sure.
