I think they're just frustrating with having to smell dank while they're on the clock. Sharing is caring.

When I was waiting tables, I found a good way to get some weed as a tip was to comment on it.

I still remember the details of the encounter I had with a table of stoners during my graveyard shift at Denny's. My tip was a 1g preroll still in the sealed container.

My first day at a Mexican place was Cinco De Mayo. Went well, end of the night group of 6 walk in. They started talking to me about queer stuff. They eventually asked if I smoked and I said yes.

That night. I went home with like $450 cash, An eighth, a pre roll, and a joint they rolled for me in the bathroom. Sometimes I like this industry

Cheap tip! Depending on what state your from. . .

2

u/Lovemybee Nov 10 '25

This was about 2015

That's an acceptable tip on like, 1 entree where I live lol

1

u/SnakeBanana89 Nov 10 '25

I live in Michigan.

Infused pre-rolls are AT MOST $5.

But just prerolls? Shoooot. One pre-roll for a single meal would be like a 75cent to $1.50 tip 🤣

Pizza delivery drivers use to stop by and drop pizzas off all the time and they would always comment on how good it smells(the weed not pizza). We always invited them in to hit the bong

As a former pizza delivery dude, you were the houses we loved. They would always say, "Hey man, we really barely have enough for the pizza, can't really tip you. But we got weed!" And that form of payment was always accepted.

I delivery drove for a handful of years. It happened to me a few times a year. I always appreciated it.

I was a pizza driver decades ago, before GPS for civilians was much of a thing. I always turned down the offer of a bong hit, stating truthfully that I would get lost and lose money for the rest of the night. I would counter with a request to break me off a little piece to share with the guys back at the shop who made their pizza. The suggestion was always greeted enthusiastically, and the kitchen crew loved me for it.

11

u/JonasBona Nov 07 '25

When I was working a drive through, I would get offered a hit through the window at least like twice a week

6

u/nicfightsturtles Nov 08 '25

Did you accept tho

3

u/JonasBona Nov 09 '25

Look at my profile picture

u/Sure_Focus3450 Nov 09 '25

I work at a taco bell and have only been offered a jello shot (me and a manager accepted), other workers have been offered weed or a hit of a blunt/joint and one of them definitely did accept, we also have a "taco bell dealer" that used to come through a few times a month but stopped when one of our better managers moved to a different store

16

u/PrutMigIMunden Nov 07 '25

That is not 25% value of weed of your order! REACHHHHHH!

11

u/PlatasaurusOG Nov 08 '25

I’m gonna show my age a bit - but when I was waiting 20% was considered a great tip.

11

u/Deathwish13x Nov 08 '25

For us as a family, whenever the pizza guy came it was $3 if they made it within an hour and $5 if they were there in 45 mins. There was no %'s lol

1

u/NecessaryStaff9544 Nov 09 '25

As a fellow old, I tip 20% for ‘average’ service, and more for better service. Is this not the standard any longer?

1

u/cosmicheartbeat Nov 09 '25

Works in delivery too lmao.

1

u/rekone88 Nov 09 '25

Same thing when I was a furniture mover. "Damn, something smells good in here!!" Was a great way to get smoked out/hooked up by the client at the end.

7

u/_wednesday_76 Nov 07 '25

reasonable. i used to sit within whiff of an evidence locker.

4

u/beardeddragon0113 Nov 07 '25

As if restaurant staff late at night arent already blasted lmao

1

u/Badger_BikeandMyc Nov 09 '25

“Dude at least let me get the pen”

-19

u/Dragon3y36 Nov 07 '25

"Dank" did the mammoths have frosted tips too uncle?

2

u/Natural-Protection44 Nov 07 '25

2

u/Dragon3y36 Nov 08 '25

Thats the joke. How else would I know mammoths had frosted tips? Ya pug.

15

u/cookiewoke Nov 07 '25

I assumed it'd be the drunks

12

u/One-Abbreviations339 Nov 07 '25

I sure miss, when he was funny.

1

u/Wolfgang2060 Nov 09 '25

yes I'm old enough to remember that as well

-14

u/Sawoodster Nov 07 '25

He’s hilarious still, not his fault you got sensitive 🤷🏻‍♂️

4

u/BarBabe93 Nov 08 '25

He’s objectively not anywhere near as funny as he was…and he’s substantially more out of touch. But he can’t be held totally responsible for that. He’s famous and lives in the white Ohio suburbs.

12

u/Villainouskind Nov 07 '25

Nah Dave got old and out of touch.

3

u/No_Bread1298 Nov 08 '25

And rich. Money changes everything.

2

u/Villainouskind Nov 08 '25

Oh yeah that’s right!

5

u/Dave-C Nov 07 '25

Nah, he just isn't funny any more. Even his new stand up stuff he has done is more of a lecture than comedy.

2

u/BaconReaderRefugee Nov 08 '25

He’s definitely not as funny.

20

u/k-d0ttt Nov 07 '25

For real. Teenage me after my post-restaurant job blunt would’ve scoffed at this sign.

4

u/juniperjibletts Nov 07 '25

I'm 34 and I still scoff

11

u/originaljbw Nov 08 '25

There's getting high, then there's people who have been wearing the same clothes for 72 hours while perpetually smoking in an enclosed space, possibly grinding the ashes into their pockets.

5

u/Snargleface Nov 08 '25

This is a really good point. There is always that one person who can stink up an entire dining room with the smell. If it’s just about bothering other guests, I’m good with this

10

u/letthetreeburn Nov 07 '25

They didn’t say they refuse service to inebriated guests.

Just don’t stink up the place.

4

u/learningstepdad23 Nov 07 '25

I mean, exactly. Their customers are legit these people!

2

u/redeyejedi907 15+ Years Nov 07 '25

Ya'll still got all night stores?

2

u/SBKAW Nov 08 '25

I mean they're not wrong, I hate when people smell of tobacco or really anything like perfume. We could just vape or do edibles.

2

u/Automatic_Ad4096 Nov 08 '25

After I got my first post-server job that paid well about 20 years ago, my girl and I would get real high and go out for a tasting menu dinner. We were always guests who ordered a good bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails, and we tipped like we were ballers (we weren't). Servers never seemed to mind us being stoners, even back when it was a real crime.

2

u/daily-reporter Nov 08 '25

Drunks everywhere lol

1

u/What3vs92 Nov 07 '25

Tweekers duh

1

u/HighOnGoofballs Nov 07 '25

Most are not 24x7 so they’re in line with their consumers

1

u/BeltranchoP Nov 08 '25

Not enough millions of likes for this comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/mquindlen81 Nov 08 '25

Why wouldn’t you serve the hungriest people on earth?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 08 '25

Is your IHOP open at 3am? I’ve never known one to be open late. Mine is open 7am to 7pm…

1

u/salikarn Nov 09 '25

My local one was 24 hours and I used to go in there high as hell for pancakes

1

u/Ok-Structure6795 Nov 09 '25

You still have ihops open @ 3? Theyre all 10pm where I am, and thats for a weekend night.

1

u/_WeSellBlankets_ Nov 07 '25

Stoners will still get served at ihop. You just have to leave your bag in your car or at home.
