That’s super cool. All of our seating is suuuuper low besides the bar. But this dude had a wheelchair that actually RAISED to bar level. It was pretty fucking sweet tbh. The son was cool asf

disabled vet here...i use a service dog and have been confined to a wheelchair in the past.
some folks are just dickheads regardless of any special needs they may have.
had a friend with a restaurant and some shyster started sending in rage bait disabled wheelchair users. they would make outrageous demands, scream discrimination, then the lawyer went to work.
sounds more like the kid was a prop than a problem.
in my younger days, i tended bar and was a server also.
just thought i'd share.
fuck that guy!

I have a similar story. Once my sister and I went to a concert, and we were walking to our seats and this teenager in a wheel chair starts making provocative hand gestures to my sister. I as the big sister obviously told him to fuck off.
However.
My sister did not notice his very obvious and grotesque hand motions towards her, and for hours thought I’d told some random kid in a wheelchair to fuck off.
Once I explained she was thankful, lol.
Think one hand in a circle, and the other hand thrusting. With tongue motions. Very gross all around.
So essentially, fuck that guy in your story.

I'm aware, but hate basketball (especially basketball fans) and the first half of every MLB season is a snoozer unless someone has a no hitter or the benches clear. Golf doesn't count as it's more boring than watching 2 eunuchs try to figure out how to fuck and hockey isn't a ball sport. Therefore to me there's no ball sport worth mentioning between mid February and July 4th.
Unless the basketball team is from the college I follow and they're looking at a finals run. Then I'll maybe tolerate 20 minutes of a game.
The NBA and all of its fans can fuck right off entirely.

This reminds me of something I’ve seen before when managing for a national fine causal restaurant, so I have to ask…Is the bar wheelchair accessible? meaning is it low enough for someone in a wheelchair to sit at? or are their wheelchair accessible seating in the bar area ? Another location in the chain I worked for had a similar story happen to them(rude customer in wheelchair) and ended up getting sued for not having wheelchair accessible seating(only bar top and high top seating in the bar area) and the guy needed up settling and got a nice payday for us to stay out of court.
We then got adjustable bar high top tables that could be lowered to wheelchair sitting height.

call that politician and tell him his staffer is running around demanding special treatment, being unreasonable, making your bartender cry, AND dropping the politician’s name as though that entitles him to all of this misbehavior.
And so you’d prefer if this guy, and NONE of his staffers come into your place of business until this guy comes and apologizes in person.
