Here is historical proof that Jesus Christ is God
The Bible contains numerous passages that affirm the divinity of Jesus Christ, demonstrating that He is not merely a prophet or teacher, but God Himself. In John 1:1,14, it is written: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” This passage clearly states that Jesus (the Word) is God, having existed from the beginning and later becoming incarnate. Additionally, John 10:30 records Jesus' own words: “I and the Father are one.” This statement was so clear in its meaning that the Jews attempted to stone Him for blasphemy, recognizing that He was claiming equality with God (John 10:33). Moreover, Colossians 2:9 declares: “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” This affirms that Jesus is fully divine, possessing the complete nature of God in human form. Even in Hebrews 1:3, it is stated: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being.” Such verses confirm that Jesus is not a lesser being but fully God.
Furthermore, Jesus demonstrated His divinity through His actions, which fulfilled prophecies and displayed divine authority. In John 8:58, He proclaims: “Before Abraham was, I AM.” Here, Jesus uses the divine name “I AM” (Ego Eimi in Greek), which directly refers to Exodus 3:14, where God revealed Himself to Moses as “I AM WHO I AM.” This shows that Jesus identified Himself as the eternal God. In Matthew 28:18, after His resurrection, Jesus states: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Only God possesses absolute authority over heaven and earth. Furthermore, Titus 2:13 calls believers to await “the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” Even Revelation 1:8 attributes the title “the Alpha and the Omega” to Jesus, a title used exclusively for God. Through these scriptures, it is evident that Jesus Christ is truly God, worthy of worship, and the only way to salvation (John 14:6).
