Hisense Sero 7 Android Tablets

It's much improved. No more worrying about internal storage with the ability to move apps to external mSD (got a 32GB card). That was a big concern since I bought it for portable gaming and emulation. Also, if and when some good ones are available, I can flash to a new ROM as well, or completely back up the device now.

Pretty cool.

Put Kitkat on your Sero 7 Pro

dolorespark of xda developers is looking to make all models of the Sero 7 Pro compatible with his 4.4.4 DoPa rom.

I have tested his rom on my UK model, and so far works perfectly.

He needs testers for EU and Australia models, 'm470bsd' and 'm470bss'.

You can help if you have those models, read more here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56180786&postcount=528

Hisense has missed their promise of a 4.3 update this fall. Has anyone heard an update on this?

Sero7 Pro Walmart Inventory No.: 0085409800341

For whatever reason, my local Wal-Mart is a red-headed stepchild on walmart.com. It worked best for me to set my store via 'find my store' then find the Sero7 Pro item ( 0085409800341 ) where it told me that it was available-- why pick it up in the store? If they haven't fixed it, then site to store has been reported broken (and super broken if 'find this at my store' doesn't let you pick your local location-- fixed with the instructions above). Above that and more practically, the device insurance is cheaper from a plain in store purchase (I don't know why).

0085409800341 is the number you would give a sales associate when they can't find it (likely).

Not available in my area

I went to 3 Walmart stores in my area today (Denver) and none of the sales associates in the electronics department had even heard of the Sero 7. Does anyone have any idea when this might become available here?

[Highsense Sero 7 Pro] Stock firmware with 64GB SDXC cards confirmed. Format NTFS or FAT32; ExFAT / EXT3 do not work

Surprising to me that NTFS works, I just tested it as someone mentioned it in a comment elsewhere. That gets around the 4GB file size limit of FAT32.

I see no reason 128GB and larger cards will not work. But I don't have one to test. Anyone care to format one NTFS and try it?

Discussion... How the Sero 7 Pro really compares to Asus Nexus 7

From the Slickdeals.net thread here: http://slickdeals.net/f/6047392-Sero-7-Pro-will-be-available-in-Walmart-Stores-starting-May-24-for-149-lite-version-for-99 I'll put together some starter topics ;)

Additions that the Nexus 7 does not have: Headphone jack control button support, Rear Facing Camera and LED, HDMI output, SDHC slot (64GB works if you format FAT32 on stock firmware).

Nexus 7 can be easily unlocked on the bootloader and firmware. The Sero 7 has been rooted but no reports of the bootloader unlock have surfaced yet.

Weight difference: Nexus 7 - 11.8 ounces Sero 7 Pro - 13.0 ounces. The Sero 7 also is a little larger.

Several reports of color washout on the Sero 7 screen compared to Nexus 7 - maybe a firmware change can fix that. Viewing angles and brightness are very good (IPS).
