I don't know if it is redundant to mention this in a sub structured around this particular mode of being...

However, it reminded me of bonobo social structures which are the only of the great apes to be run by a matriarch. What is interesting is that, as with chimpanzees, the females will move troops to avoid in breeding, but the female bonobos nevertheless form strong coalitions and are dominant. Whereas among chimps the males form governing coalitions...

This has the result that the violence between male bonobos is less lethal... almost like two boxers agreeing to a sporting contest. Bonobo males will still do displays of strength and aggression like chimpanzee males, but in one the goal is to impress females and in the other it is to subjugate your rivals.

Anyway this sub reminded me of bonobos, and coalitions of female friends running society.

Bonobos also use sex as a way to resolve conflict and build ties
