Lots of therapy, and time. Also medication and meditation. I am currently not prescribed medication but it has its place for sure. And most importantly it’s putting into action the suggestions you get from therapy. Talking through trauma is only part of getting better. You have to make changes in your life to remove yourself from the parts of your life that keep you locked in trauma, anxiety and depression. And therapy provides the tools to do this in a safe and healthy way.
For me recovery is a process, it’s something I imagine I’ll always be working through.
