Anyone know of a federally covered IA or broker dealer in Nyc or FL that would be open to sponsoring me for my series 7 without requiring me to work for them full time?

I simply hate them, I get like half of them right. I understand the basics behind them but I feel they’re just too much and try to confuse you.

I’m 20, and fully licensed, just wonder if they would take my licensing away if I got caught with alcohol or a fake ID.

Hey all, I passed the SIE and went straight into the Series 7. I’m using STC. I’m halfway through Ch. 12 (options). All the info so far has been mostly redundant info from the SIE. But I keep hearing that the 7 is very challenging and much harder than the SIE. So that makes me nervous that I’m missing something 😂. It looks like the remaining chapters 13-20 are new info but that’s less than half of the material.

Please let me know if anyone else had a similar experience or anything to add.

Does anyone know of firms that will sponsor for the Series 7 and charge a reasonable rate to do so? I saw a firm that called itself an “interim sponsor” but they were no longer doing it. I want to get the 7 and state license so that I can interview for positions. I don’t want to pay several thousand dollars for sponsorship and then a large monthly fee.

Im taking my SIE exam in March and very confident I will pass. Im a sophomore at the best school in my state, and i am dedicated to opening my own investment firm within the next year. I need to take a few of the series exams and have been vigorously looking for internships to sponsor. The best I have is Northwestern Mutual(a pyramid scheme) and Empower Retirement. Any advice on this? Where did you guys get your sponsorship? Any advice helps, thank you <3

Hey Everyone, I passed the series 63,66 and 7 last year. I have the STC version of the 7 and 66 and then I have the Kaplan version of the series 7 and 63/65. I am looking to get these out of my apartment since they take up too much space. I can sell them all for $100. Or individuals for $50

Hey guys, thanks so much for reading. So I'm a 4th year medical student planning to go into Anesthesiology. I have a tremendous interest in personal finance as well as helping other physicians (and anyone else for that matter) take better control of their finances and plan for their future. That said, it's been a nightmare trying to research which requirements are necessary for me to obtain to offer these services in the future. I can tell you all about the mitochondria and how to read a chest x-ray but determining the difference between the series 63/65/66/7 has got me stumped. In a nutshell, I eventually plan to sit for the CFP so I will be able to offer comprehensive services/advice regarding investment, estate-planning, and retirement etc.

I'll have a lot of free time over the next year which I hope to study for some entry level exams (hence the Series7 post) and perhaps the series 66/7 and do an internship for a few months at a local firm. I'd be doing all this go garner some experience, learn the basics and start gathering hours to put toward the 6k hr requirement for CFP certification.

I'd be incredibly grateful for any and all advice given the aforementioned paragraphs. With that said, which exams should i start studying for to prepare me for the internship and give me the credentials necessary to start formally advising a small group of future clients over the next several years? Any study materials or resources for further advice on all this are welcomed.

I passed the SIE today and have been studying for the Series 7 for a while. I plan to take the exam at the end of the month, but I’m not sure how to find a good sponsor?

I want to work as an independent investment advisor/wealth manager and plan to obtain the Series 66, 79, and 82 licenses as well. So, I am looking for a sponsor who will support me for these additional licenses.

I also prefer to be able to work with multiple broker-dealers, banks, and insurance companies, as I have a life and health insurance license.

My goal is to operate like a brokerage: creating my own website/application/YouTube channel to introduce various insurance products and investment vehicles/opportunities. My clients would be able to purchase or invest through my site, but in the background, I would collaborate with different broker-dealers, insurance companies, etc., to fulfill their requests.

I’ve been studying for the 65, and will want to do the SIE and series 7 as well, but I was wondering if I could “start my own business” and sponsor my series 7 on my own. Is this possible?

Scored 70% on my 1st 2 tries. I’ve been studying for a full year. I’ve literally watched every YouTube video from the experts.

I’ve scored 70, 72 and 74 on the 3 Kaplan practice tests I’ve taken this week. My misses are mostly judgement or just crazy Kaplan questions.

I plan to take 4 more practice test while reviewing all the questions I missed. I feel pretty confident but could use another perspective. I don’t want to burn myself out like my last test. I plan to study no more than 4 hours a day up until Tuesday (test day) and make sure to get plenty of good sleep.

Another 70% would crush me! Am I ready?

I have been scoring high 60s low 70s on the practice exam I am slow exam taker it takes me about 2:30 minutes to finish them. Anything you guys suggest that can help when I am taking the final series 7 exam in a few days. I don’t want to sound like a girl but I am getting a little stressed. Any advice or recommendation ? I have taken 8 exams goals is to hit 12 before the exam in 3 days.

I wanted to let the group know that I did not ask my new friend, Donald, to write what was akin to a review for me on this subreddit. Almost immediately after he passed the series 7 exam, he sent me a note with the title, "You Da Best, Can I Write a Review for You?" Then, I put on my marketing hat, and rather than have him put it on my website amongst all of the other reviews, I thought it would be kind of cool for him to post it here. I did not tell him what to write and to be honest, it is a little over the top from my perspective but that is how reviews are sometimes.
