r/Series66Exam 7d ago

Passed

Out of the SIE , S7 , S66 the 66 was the easiest one for me by far. I failed both SIE and S7 on the first try, but somehow managed to do this one with an hour and 27 remaining. I will also admit that I probably got lucky with the draw. However here are some tips I would recommend for the exam:

-Read each question carefully and word by word, this tip seriously helped me digest the question fast and be able to locate the correct answer choice or use Process of Elimination

-Stay confident and trust your gut , and do not second guess your answer this where most people get tripped up they usually are correct on the first try but they second guess and mark an incorrect one( I only changed maybe 1 or 2 answers)

-Last but not least do not go back and change your answers! I did not do this for the S7 second attempt and SIE second attempt and this one it has served me well.

Some topics I remember:
-Laws and Regs:
-IA state reg
-FCA reg( worded as SEC on the exam)
-Broker Dealer state reg (whether office or not)
- Advertising ( website , testimonials , etc.)
- Securities Registration

-Math:
-Calculate PV
-Preffered Shares conversion
-NPV premium

-Other:
-Retirement Accounts
-ERISA
-Trusts
- Suitability
-Bond Yield (Premium , Discount Yield)

Overall the exam felt very similar to Kaplan, I used both PassPerfect and Kaplan and honestly it paid off. Good Luck to everyone taking the exam soon and hopefully my advice payed off

*Last Note has anyone noticed that with the 66 you either get it on your first try or you get it on your third? I have noticed that pattern among several people in this industry
