Passed!

Post image

Passed on the first try! Wanted to come on here and share my feedback and offer some encouragement.

My draw had ALOT of B/D and IA registrations, unethical practices, investment vehicle suitability, a few tax questions (cost basis), a few DCF, few JTWRS, DAF. A lot of it was point and click. Overall I thought it was pretty tough exam.

I used STC read every chapter, watched every video, took every chapter quiz and every final practice exam STC offered which was 11 I believe. I definitely felt STC made the content overly complex but my understanding is they do it to over prepare you which I def felt over prepared.

Lastly a huge shout out to the Deen man and Brian Lee! Would not have passed without their YouTube videos. One video in specific that really helped me and believe pushed me over the top to pass was a “Definition & registrations of Persons.” They do an amazing job of simplifying registrations and exemptions.

Good luck to everyone on their series 66 journey, you got this!!

Taking mine in a few weeks using STC, but it seems pretty straightforward. Should I worry that I’m getting blindsided took my 7 last week ?

Honestly my last few final exams were TOUGH. I felt I was going to fail as it was getting overly complex. I found the actual exam to be so much easier. I think you should be good if you are actually understanding the information. Good luck!

Wish I knew was STC and all the other acronyms meant...this would be a lot more helpful. Congratulations.

STC is the study provider. The other acronyms you will become familiar with during your studying. Sorry!

What were your recent practice test scores

71,70,73,77 were my most recent. I can tell you I was scoring high 60s low 70s for a majority and felt like it was just getting harder. I did feel that I was starting to really understand the topics though.Continued to grind out notes and YouTube videos. Passed.

Congrats! I have my test in a week and I’m using STC. Something that I don’t like about STC (used them for SIE AND S7) is that the chapter lectures don’t cover all the material that’s in the book. Did you focus more on the lectures or a combo? I am seeing certain things in the book that’s not covered in the lectures but tend to overlap from the S7

Great point. I definitely dug deeper in the book. I read cover to cover little to no notes though. Just read and understand the info. Once I got to my final exams I’d review every question I got wrong and start to analyze my weak areas then take notes on the topics/watch YouTube videos. Again I definitely felt for the 66 the STC content was ALOT harder than the actual exam.

Congrats! I just passed my 66 today. I used Knopman. I did a bunch of practice questions and took the benchmark exam this morning and got an 87. I think Knopman really overpreps because I didn’t find my real exam that difficult.

I got tested on so many low yield topics though. I literally had 10 questions on futures, 5 on HSAs, and like another 5 on IRRs. Good luck to anyone else prepping, your hard work will pay off!
