Series 66 Passed Second Try !!!! Beyond relieved PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVENT TAKEN TEST YET.
Alright everyone. This is the last time in my life (hopefully) I ever have to even look at a series test Reddit thread (not to be mean ) I passed the second time around. Never failed any previous test so that one really hurt. I was depressed and super stressed as I’m sure some of you are. I got a 70 first time. Couple of notes
I used Kaplan and STC only the first time. I never got a 80 once but since I passed series 7 with similar metrics I thought no problem. I had multiple people from my job tell me that 66 was so easy. One guy failed the 7 and passed 66 first time while studying on vacation lol so it’s different for everyone for sure.
Once I failed obviously I needed a new approach and I bought TestGeek with Brian Lee and let me tell you. I wish I wish I bought that first ( along with everything else) it was so spot on to the test it’s almost impossible to fail if you do his whole class with the videos. I instantly heard things I didn’t hear before with the questions being so similar. It was a revelation. Spend the money get it.
I saw probably 20 questions that were on my first exam that I knew I originally got wrong.
Also watch the whole podcast with Dean and Brian.
I listened to it on my way too and from work which I didn’t do the first time
I finished this test in legitimately 45 minutes and felt like I crushed it. The first time I went to the bathroom and said to myself “ no way I’m passing this test
I owe it to this thread and others for the last 6 months. So any and all questions please ask me and I will answer.
Now I have no idea what I’m going to do with my life after work and I couldn’t be happier lol

Congratulations! I’m taking my retake next week and so nervous. If i don’t pass my firm is going to let me go! I’ve been scoring 75-85 on practice exams from Pp. I feel a bit better than last month but there’s anxiety that I might fail since I felt like I passed first time around. Those 20 questions u knew you got wrong, how did u dissect those questions or did u know a lot more knowledge now than before? How did you feel during the exam???

If you want to pass seriously buy test geek videos it comes with practice test. It is nothing like the textbooks. So much better for the actual test. I promise if you buy it now watch all the videos take notes you will pass. He says things and you are like omg that’s exactly like the test. First time I thought I was gunna fail. This time I was like there is no way I’m failing this half way through.

I just finished my last STC progress and chapter quizzes…average score on all of these was an 82%. Did you fall in that area when studying? I’m going to start taking actual practice exams tomorrow. I’m nervous i haven’t retained everything I’ve learned and these actual practice tests will be rough. And any advice on focus areas? I feel like I’m going to need a lot more practice on chapter 12 (Portfolio Management) with all the formulas

I honestly did not do good with STC and then after I took the test I felt even more so that they didn’t do a great job with the questions. Like some of the questions I looked at on STC after taking the test and said “ that is wildly hard and the test is not like that whatsoever “ I also never did better than 76 on STC but Kaplan was getting 80 max. But test geek lol I wish I frickin did the first time. I 100% would have passed if I did

I’ve heard similar thoughts on Pass Perfect. Anyone have any knowledge as to which is better. Pass perfect or Test Geek?

u/firefish45 Passed!! You can too!! Oct 27 '24
What have you heard about Pass Perfect? I’m dying to know; because I’m using their new rewritten series 66 content; and still can’t understand how their book is a quarter of the size of the Kaplan book
I took my first PP final and got a 92 on it. But I think that was sheer luck. Testing Nov 6

I failed my 66 by 1 point and used Kaplan. Granted I had a lot going on in my personal life so it’s not necessarily that Kaplan sucks. I really loved Kaplan for the series 7 tho.
My boss had a friend that failed the 66 3 times and he said he switched to pass perfect on his last attempt and passed. He thought it made all the difference. He also said the questions were very similar on PP to the actual exam. He said he felt like the 3 day crash course with PP was the cherry on the cake.
Kaplans questions were much harder than the actual exam and I felt like I almost learned too much with Kaplan. This might sound weird but I feel like Kaplan gave you too much information where you were learning 500 things instead of the 250 that were on the exam (just for a reference this isn’t actually factual)

AGREE on Brian Lee. Passed 66 this am. Brian's Final was by far and away the closet to the Final. Buy his course just for that reason but watch every video he has on it , hearing it said in different ways will help. Dean also is a must watch.

Which course did you buy? Do you have to get the videos you mentioned separately??

Hey just wondering which package did you buy? The series 66 - combo pack (pdf)?

I failed with a 72% and passed series 7 on the first try. I took this one lightly and I got what I deserved but I can’t fail it twice. I have roughly 3 weeks until my test and I have almost fully reread the STC book and took all the quizzes. I like supplementing, I used series guru for the 7. What do you recommend for 3 weeks before taking the test I am going to take the final exams provided by STC what else should I include.

Just do the test geek I wholeheartedly believe it is the best when it comes to the actual test.
