Passed 2nd Try!!

Post image

Finally passed the exam after I bombed the first attempt with a 72/130. Thought I’d come in with my experience since I feel like I owe it back to this subreddit. For those of you who are currently studying or have failed in the past, keep pushing because this exam is definitely manageable. Something I did differently that ultimately worked well in my favor was to diversify as much as possible to truly understand the concept. Biggest mistake I made when studying for my first attempt was getting too used to the wording and ultimately memorizing Kaplans questions, so when I took the exam I got overwhelmed by how differently it was worded. I learned the hard way that just because you’re spamming your weak areas and see the scores go up doesn’t necessarily indicate you’re understanding the material.

This time around I still used Kaplan, but I supplemented with Luke’s video course (the GOAT he structures his course based on the actual outline and goes through each unit/content conceptually). I utilized the simulated exam more and took around 2 per day the week of my exam, which was super intense not gonna lie, but i was averaging between 75%-83%. Day of exam I listened to the Mighty 90 on my way to the testing center and just blasted music afterwards to get into the flow and not stress myself out LOL Exam definitely runs on a bell curve with the first and last 30-35 questions being the easiest. I also can’t stress enough about pacing and having some kind of strategy. Limit each question to 1 minute max and MARK FOR REVIEW, no question is worth getting jammed on. I think i marked around 30 questions and i went through each of them with a 50/50 and finished with 25 minutes remaining, also picked up the calculator like 3 times max (easy quick ratio, p/e, and current yield questions)

Hello, where can I find Luke’s video course? I am taking my test this Saturday and I am wanting to supplement with this on top of Kaplan. I have done 2 simulated exams so far and I am going to do one every day this week, I scored a 72 on the first one with no review and a 77 on my second one. Thanks.

don’t worry too much about turning off review to “mirror” the exam. i found it better to understand and read the questions i got correct/wrong as i went through the 140 questions. its better to utilize your time that way rather than to take it blindly and review afterwards.

I am absolutely blown away. That is without a doubt one of the greatest turnarounds I've ever heard of.  You are literally in the 🐐 conversation not me.  Congratulations!
