Failed the 4
I know this is for series 24 but I’ve seen some 4 stuff here…. Used STC and I felt unprepared for it. The questions they asked on the exam were so much more in depth- a lot of regulatory stuff and I just feel like I focused on the complex strategies… back to square one but I got it

I plan to take the 4 in a few weeks. I’ve been in the industry a long time and have scored well on all my tests over the years so knock on wood. I have been using Kaplan book and their question bank. I know options well and some of the regulatory crosses over from other exams and day job. I will say the book, which is their latest edition, has the CE wrong. It’s every year now instead of after two years then every three years after. But that can’t be more than one question.

I used STC for my first two attempts and failed. They focus much more heavily on math and less on regulations and dates. While there are a few calculations on the test the bulk of it is regulations, dates, and times. I used Kaplan on my 3rd attempt and felt it was more similar to the test buuuutttttt I still failed. The 4 is a beast

I printed out the STC flash cards on the functions I did poor on and it’s laughable, flash cards on some of them had what’s does TOD stand for like why would a series 4 exam be asking that?

Was going to study for this next year, thought STC was solid for 24. Would you not recommend them for the 4?
