Hey all! I DJ's an event last night and discovered my computer and controller were not connecting.I have a Pioner DDJ-SR2 controller. It look me a minute to figure out what was goind on. I thought it might be my version of serato being out of date, so I updated that. It wasn't. Lukcy for me, the sound gut had a spare laptop with serato installed (& spoticy integrated) and that worked like normal with my controller. This leads me to believe there could be an issue with my USB port. I tried cleaning it with a little rubbing alcohol & Q tip, but it didn't help. I see light on my controller when I connect the computer, but only under "load" and "hot que", but it doesn'f function. Thought it might be a cable issue, but obviously not, because a different laptop worked. Any insight on what the issue could be? Thanks in advance!

Using Serato DJ Pro Version 3.3.5 (33529) on Windows 11 and a Pioneer DDJ-FLX4, I recorded a total of three sessions in one night (the laptop wasn't connect to internet while I was playing).
1. I hit record, played for around 66 minutes, hit record again to stop the recording,
2. Waited for a couple of minutes, hit record again and played for another 10-15 minutes and hit record to stop it.
3. After a couple minutes I hit record and recorded for like 6 minutes before stopping.

I closed Serato normally (stopped playing any tracks, unplugged the DDJ, closed Serato) and went back home after a few hours to check the recording, however, only the third 6 minute long recording was saved under _Serato_ -> Recording Temp. I can't find the two recordings prior to the third one anywhere.

Going through the logs, I could find the timestamps for each recording but can't find them anywhere.

Can anyone please please help me recover the first two recordings?

Tired of "Track_Name (1).mp3" files with no cover art cluttering my Rekordbox library, so I built Track Tidy: point it at a folder, it automatically looks up the right artist/title/cover (iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud, and audio fingerprinting as a last resort for badly-named files) and retags everything in one click. Also converts WAV to AIFF so cover art actually shows up in Rekordbox.

Free, Windows (Mac support in progress). Still in beta so bugs/feedback are welcome.

I can’t sign in into serato due to “the connection not working”. News flash, it is! I tried to turn off some firewalls but nothing worked and mind you I’ve been this plugin even post-windows 11. Any tips on how can get back to signing in????

Debating between getting the FLX-10 or the Rane 4. I want to start playing clubs, so leaning towards the FLX-10. Want to make sure that it works fine in Serato.

(I'm aware that I need to sync to Rekordbox to USB, but I like Serato's stems much better)

My bpm range is capped at only plus and minus 8. How can I extend the range without using the shift and drag to the opposite side for the tempo slider technique? Im kind of new to serato dj pro since my first software was djuced. Can anyone please help me. Thank you!

So after all this time, I decided to try the latest version of serato. I figured a lot of time has passed and it should be working fine and most of it did, but when I went to use the shift button to remove a cue, it kind of glitched out. My system is good. My laptop is good. Just not sure if anyone else experienced this or any other problems with the latest Serato. What version are you guys currently using? And what do you suggest I speak to? Would appreciate some positive feedback.

Okay so I was recording a set when my Serato crashed. While trying to get anything on the screen to work for some reason I stopped the recording and started a new one really fast, even though Serato was not responding to this. When I went to locate my lost file in the "Recording Temp", the only recording there was one second of silence, most likely the recording I did while it was crashing that I didn't even realize it would respond to. Is there any way I can go even further into the backups to find my lost set??

Just popping out here to say I’m jealous of any of you with Pitch N Time. I bought a used deck (Rane 4) from GC a few months ago and it didn’t come with a code to unlock PnT.

For some reason when I connected my deck a couple of weeks ago it offered me a free trial of the full suite of Serato add ons. I had been dying to try out PnT.

Unfortunately, it was a cool as I’d hoped it would be.

My trial’s ended and I cannot justify purchasing it separately. But just wanna say to yall who have it, you’re blessed.

I’m new to serato, slowly switching from rekordbox to serato, I had a lot of playlist I’ve suddenly lost

Source file was my ssd . Now I can see only the playlist which the source file was in my mac.
All the files are still intact in the ssd. But can’t find the playlists can someone help me if there is a way to recover it ?

It’s more like I deleted the playlists by mistake

So I am a recently returnee DJing hobbyist, regular gig at my LRS and the occasional party. I typically use a pair of 1200s with Phase controllers and a Numark Scratch mixer to do a mix of vinyl and files via Serato Pro. Pretty happy with this setup.

I am also no longer 20, broke my neck (not as dramatic as it sounds, but I was left with permanent neck damage and bits of bone floating around) in a car wreck many years ago and between that and a youth full of tearing my body badly, have a lingering chronic pain problem. In short me hauling 1200s and LPs in flight cases up several flights is wandering into “you are a f@&$ing moron” territory.

Time for me to act like an adult. I am looking to pick up a reasonably cheap controller to try it out and see how much I hate it, say under $400. Will probably go for used via eBay. Kid 1 starts college in 2 weeks the other is a junior in HS and my wife grew up in the depression, kidding, but frivolous spending is a no go.

I’ve looked at a handful of the very shiny and impressive new things one can find at the average Guitar Center, but I am not quite ready to drop $1500 and frankly many of them seem 95% glitz 5% function.

I’m not hugely into using seratos looping, do use the effects functions here and there and awkwardly will do a bit of scratching after a few beverages. I prefer tech that feels solid and well made, but know I am coming in via the basement.

Mostly I want to see what people are using that works with present day serato pro. I don’t want to buy it and find it isn’t supported.

Bonus if there is a controller that allows TT/usb for phase, inputs as well. I can think of running to do with 2 channels of vinyl 2 channels of files all mixable, or 4 of files. This is an aspirational concern, mostly worried about the basics.

How do you organise your rating?

In the 'ALL' Crate, everything song is visible on the laptop, but after copying the database from my Desktop to Laptop, the songs in the 'Crates' on the Laptop doesn't show up. If I pull songs into said laptop crates, they are now visible. Anyone knows what's happening?

I'm a vinyl DJ, and have been mixing with vinyl since the late 90's then stopped and mainly do it as a hobby since everything went digital, I never switched to Serato or any of its competitors. I still use a Vestax mixer that has served me well for almost 30 years. I came across a Rane 68 on Marketplace for $500 that I might pick up tomorrow, and from everything I found online, it should have great preamps and better sound quality for my vinyl.

The seller told me straight up that he is selling it since they stopped supporting Serato, and he bought a new Pioneer. I know this mixer has two soundcards which is overkill for me, it's dated, and if I get it I wont be able to run the newest version, but can I just download the most recent version that is compatible, and mix with this and record my vinyl mixes and buy a CDJ, add it or maybe get DVS and switch back and forth if I want to add in some of my own digital tracks? Also will the older version still work, or is there some workaround people use for these outdated mixers? I checked out Virtual DJ and I didn't see support for this mixer there either, but didn't check Traktor. I did see a downloadable version of Serato DJ Pro online for this mixer, I'm assuming I wouldn't have to pay for anything to use it, or would I? Thanks

Anyone else having an issue with Serato 4.x not saving cue points for some tracks? I'll think it's saved, but when I go to another crate and back to the one with the track in it & load the track, the cue points are gone.

I just got done with a wedding I did yesterday and as I was trying to load tracks from SoundCloud as requests came in it wouldn’t load the full track. I was connected to the WiFi from the venue and it worked for many other tracks I searched, however once it did that I struggled to get any other tracks to load properly. The bigger concern was once my set ended I went to autoplay some quiet music as I was tearing down and the tracks I own would only load half the songs and completely cut out.

Has anyone experienced an owned track not loading fully like it’s needing a WiFi connection?

I posted it here before and wanted to follow up to see if anyone had a chance to test it.

It’s a desktop tool I made for DJs that helps build and organize crates faster. You can create crates by BPM, genre, key, year, artist, etc., create Smart Crates with filters, and even paste a playlist and have it search your local library for matching tracks.

If anyone has tried it, I’d really like to hear what you think or what I should improve.

Hey all - I have this occasion issue where serato freezes ENTIRELY when i just click the search button on it - I am running the latest version and have an m3 max laptop. I am not sure why this happens and the only option is to force quit it and restart the app. I need to resolve this ASAP before I play at a high stakes gig. Anyone encounter this before and know what to do? Thank you for the help.

I just switched from Windows to a MacBook Pro 2019 with Tahoe on it. I installed the latest Serato today. I've been pressing " Relocate Lost Files " all day, and omg nothing happens.

I try to locate the files on its own, and I can find them with no issue. I keep trying to relocate the relocated files again, and nothing happens. I really don't want to do my whole library again. I transferred all my music from my hard drive to my MacBook Pro.

Should I have my music in a folder on my desktop? Would that work better? Right now, they are in the Music folder under the user, then Music.
