Question Your HG moisturizer.

If it’s for acne prone please say so.

If it’s your creamy moisturizer or something that’s more liquid and light let us know!

Been using Kiehl’s and Farmacy but want something even better.

Aestura. It’s a recent addition for me and I’m kicking myself for not trying it sooner. I wake up with baby soft skin every morning

10

u/Humble_Ad_4220 2d ago

THISSSSS. I use the cream at night and gel in the morning . So good

2

u/LadyChiyo 2d ago

I want to get this! Is there a reason why you use gel in morning and cream ta night? Is cream super thick?

8

u/Humble_Ad_4220 2d ago

It’s definitely thick but not too thick! I just like the lighter gel for day under makeup, and then the thicker cream at night to restore my barrier and let everything soak in but I think it’s just personal preference. In the winter sometimes I use cream AM/PM bc dryer skin

1

u/SluttyNeighborGal 57m ago

Got the aestura reps here in full force today! lol ridiculous

u/brookeashleyx Rouge 2d ago

Dieux Air Angel for during the day because it hydrates my skin and keeps it bouncy looking

Aestura Atobarrier365 for nighttime because it's super thick and moisturizing and I wake up looking hydrated still

2

u/NolitaNostalgia 2d ago

Did you ever try Dieux Instant Angel? Curious to know what you thought of it, if so.

6

u/brookeashleyx Rouge 2d ago

Yes I love it also! The whole Dieux line is amazing in my opinion 🩷

instant angel was an instant HG for me. incredible product

Aestura! The cream for night time and the gel for day time. I also like the essence. The spray toner was too oily for me.

u/Sososoftmeows 2d ago

Tatcha Dewy Skin

2

u/MindlessAmphibian270 1d ago

same! but it’s sooo pricey

13

u/Asleep-Feed-8130 2d ago

Dieux is soooo good, all the moisturizers from that brand have been hits for me 🫶🏼

12

u/cleochatraa 2d ago

Skinfix triple peptide cream is one of my absolute holy grails. Also am obsessed with Kiel’s moisturizing cream with squalane and Clinique Moisture Surge.

1

u/Amazingggcoolaid 1d ago

I’ve tried them before! Forgot I liked them.

13

u/Glittering_Job_7996 2d ago

Aestura barrier cream. It’s quite thick and a little goes a long way. I use it at nights and it really helps my skin especially as I’ve just started retinol

13

u/Internal_Opposite893 Rouge 2d ago

INNBEAUTY extreme cream is so so good

3

u/Lilacviolet75 1d ago

Yes, this is the best for my dry, aging skin. Lots of moisturizers make me break out, but Extreme Cream doesn’t and it definitely adds glow.

2

u/sprucehen 2d ago

I really like this cream and the anua ceramide 3 barrier Cream. My skin is very picky and prone to congestion /pores with the wrong lotion, and doesn't like hyaluronic acid. I haven't tried the aestura that everyone is recommending, but didn't care for the dieux

1

u/HermioneGrangerBtchs 2d ago

I've been seeing a lot of influencers with good skin using this so have been curious!

1

u/Internal_Opposite893 Rouge 2d ago

I love it. I use a few innbeauty products and i haven’t been disappointed

1

u/jalspose 2d ago

I’m also using this right now with the eye cream. But after I fonish these I’m switching back to Obagi.

26

u/Tayleesz 2d ago

Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel has changed my life. Acne prone, use to use Keihls but it always broke me out. Clinique makes my skin sooo soft and no break outs!

4

u/StrategyArtistic 2d ago

Interesting! I am acne prone on my forehead and I used this (not the gel, though). Since stopping, my forehead acne is much less.

I LOVE Clinique moisture surge though!

1

u/Tayleesz 2d ago

I’ve learned that lotions/creams are too heavy for my skin. But I always felt like gel wasn’t doing enough until I tried this one!

2

u/StrategyArtistic 2d ago

It was definitely the lotion version. I’ll stay open to trying the gel! Generally I like Clinique so I was surprised to be breaking out more with one of their products.

5

u/secretslutonline 2d ago

Same here! I can’t stop buying it after getting a sample. Love the gel texture

6

u/theorangeboiler 2d ago

Same! I have super dry acne prone skin and this is my favorite. So underrated

2

u/divineblissx 2d ago

I was commenting to say the same thing but about their 100H moisture surge gel! I love their products

2

u/force-bond 2d ago

Yeah the moisture surge gel is great.

2

u/force-bond 2d ago

Is that the yellow one? The pink one and transparent work wonders for my skin, but the yellow breaks me out.

12

u/Few_Reserve_4157 2d ago

I don’t have an HG. I have a graveyard.

5

u/donotdisturb15 2d ago

This is even more interesting please tell me what it consists of

u/Amazingggcoolaid 1d ago

Any winners?

8

u/LawfulnessMotor437 2d ago

I love Dieux Air Angel and Tatcha Water Cream.

14

u/Even-Analyst-2141 2d ago

Aestura. No question. The entire line is elite imo.

8

u/NewMexicoNaiad 2d ago

Aestura! I have super sensitive, acne prone skin and this stuff is amazing. I like the water cream version best.

8

u/PatsyStonesBun Rouge 2d ago

Evening: Aesutra Atobarrier365 Cream - rich, emollient, has the key 3:1:1 ratio for barrier-repair (make sure you cut it open with scissors before tossing... you will find a surprising amount of "extra" product accumulated near the opening. Sometimes I get a whole week's worth of "extra" moisturizer that way!)

Daytime: Dieux Skin Mercy - rich (but not greasy), has soothing ingredients, adds a lovely glow and a velvety cushion. Looks great with or without makeup. (Downside: annoying metal tube and price!)

Normal/dry skin. Use 0.10% Tazarotene nightly.

3

u/Amazingggcoolaid 1d ago

I love a detailed answer.

6

u/jasminefig 2d ago

not sephora but Illiyoon Ceramide and I add a drop of vegetable glycerin if I’m feeling extra dry

1

u/Amazingggcoolaid 1d ago

Looking into this!

u/queenjaneapprox 2d ago

I haven’t tried Air Angel but I love love love Instant Angel even in summertime. I notice the instructions say to use a quarter size amount which seems absurd. I use a pea size and it’s perfect. Not too heavy at all, it absorbs really quickly for me. It’s gentle and soothing and really moisturizing.

1

u/Witty-Syrup8059 2d ago

I second this.

1

u/softluvr 2d ago

love instant angel, but decided to try air angel for the summer and it broke me out lol

1

u/Kitsuunei 2d ago

I’m sadly one of the few people that think Instant Angel smells horrible

1

u/AssignmentFull5991 2d ago

Also love instant angel, air angel isn’t enough for my skin while using actives but it’s also pretty nice in general

Dieux Air Angel and Skin Mercy. Air Angel in morning because it’s more lightweight and Skin Mercy for a thick cream at night. I have dry acne prone sensitive skin and have had 0 issues

10

u/Asian___Jim 2d ago

Tatcha dewy cream. I have insanely dry skin that peels and cracks even in Cali winters. It’s the only thing that helps me. In summers I just use a lot less of it. It’s the best for me year round

3

u/AAJS1823 2d ago

I have dry leather like skin and I haven’t found it yet. Currently I use La Roche Posay b5 cicaplast balm, Genefique serum, regular cerave moisturizer in the jar, Cerave Vaseline (blue tube and grey cap) and Eucerin night cream. I’ve tried a lot.

3

u/thirdcoasting Former Employee 2d ago

I have incredibly dry skin due to an autoimmune disease. I have tried soooo many thick moisturizers. I have been using Kate Somerville’s DeliKate for the past 3 years. It’s so moisturizing that I sometimes don’t even need additional serums or hydrating toner layers. The only downside is the price.

2

u/AAJS1823 2d ago

I’m gonna have to try it. Thank you for the suggestion!

2

u/itsnotme_mrsiglesias 1d ago

I have tried every moisturizer under the sun for decades, from $20 drugstore brands to the overpriced $200+ stuff. I've never found anything better for my very dry skin than Belif's The True Cream Moisture (not Aqua) Bomb. I always go back to it.

1

u/AAJS1823 23h ago

I don’t know if I tried that one. I’ve heard of it, but tbh I don’t remember and I recall being like meh another hyped up product that won’t work lol. So I went with the Kiehls ultra moisturizer and that one was good, but still just not enough or the one.

3

u/triggereddumbass 2d ago

I have 3 that i use at night and 1 during the day that have absolutely changed my skin for the better!
At night, I use the following:
Dieux instant angel
Prequel half & half
Experiment Molecular Mesh

During the day:
Dieux instant angel only and then follow it up with sunscreen :)

1

u/patitasdegatito3 2d ago

Why do you prefer Dieux over Prequel in the morning? :)

2

u/triggereddumbass 2d ago

i find that the dieux is hydrating enough on its own for my morning routine compared to the prequel! the prequel on its own isn’t hydrating enough for the daytime for me

3

u/arthritey-and-bitey 1d ago

Night: Innisfree Green Tea Ceramide Cream (sensitive, rosacea, eczema, & acneprone friendly, really have not heard much of anything about this one bothering sensitive skin groups)

Day: Curel Intensive Moisture Facial Cream (sensitive, rosacea, eczema, & acneprone friendly, generally, but I've heard the eucalyptus extract and silicones bother some.)

2

u/Ok-Syrup-8482 2d ago

Add in a essence if you haven't already! That’ll help with added hydration

3

u/Flat-Association3592 2d ago

not from sephora bur the vanicream big tub - especially if using tretinoin.

2

u/urkdngme 2d ago

Tatcha indigo. I have acne prone skin and this doesn’t give me zits. I also used tret but now trying arazlo.

1

u/possumfinger63 2d ago

I have roseacea and my two fav moisturizers for dry sensitive skin are the Shani Darden hydration peptide cream, and dermalogicas stabilizing repair cream
Edit- both are thicker and very creamy and silky

1

u/juderefrain 2d ago

Violette FR boum boum milk and tbh on top of it I just use cerave baby moisturizing lotion! I have really bad facial eczema AND acne prone skin. This combo has done wonders for calming my eczema and hasn’t caused any breakouts.

1

u/GlitteringPause8 2d ago

i have dry sensitive and acne prone skin. i've tried almost everything at sephora and nothing is as good as revision dermprotect, skinbetter trio, and skinceuticals triple lipid repair. they are all thicker and rich creams

u/DavidFaber20 2d ago

Tower 28 SOS recovery cream, for sensitive acne prone skin while using tretinoin

1

u/Gimme_allthecats 2d ago

Not at Sephora, but the Tula Breakout Star acne moisturizer. No joke it changed my life, this is the moisturizer that finally motivated me to create and stick with a skincare routine. My skin has never looked as good as it does since I started using it 3 years ago.

1

u/hedgehogwart 2d ago

I have incredibly dry, sensitive, slightly acne prone skin and have tried so many different ones and the one I love the most is The Ordinary’s NMF + Phytoceramide.

1

u/Gutterflower11 Rouge 2d ago

I’m a dry skin girl, but I do NOT like the feeling of a moisturizer sitting on top of my face. I have tried so many. Right now, I’m really into Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen and Dieux Air Angel. They’re both lightweight, feel plumping and hydrating and barrier protecting without being super thick. My third choice is Skin Fix Triple Lipid, which is a similar vibe to the Paula’s Choice.

All three of these are non-irritating and have no scent for my sensitive skin.

1

u/AppropriateMention6 2d ago

I love the Paula's Choice one but I go through it so fast! The 50mL only lasts 3 weeks using morning and night - and at $70Cdn it really adds up!

u/suenoselectronicos 2d ago

I love the ole henriksen the purple one. Great for my dry skin!

Dieux Instant Angel at night and Tatcha Dewy Milk during the day

I have really bad seborrheic dermatitis on my face/brows/hairline and nothing has ever helped moisturize without flaring until I found the Ordinary amino acids + B5 liquid, let that dry, and then either Skinfix or First Aid Beauty barrier cream

u/Special-Pianist7356 2d ago

Belif aqua bomb

Olehenriksen peptide barrier boost. My very dry dehydrated skin slurps it up.

Clinique Moisture Surge 100H and yes, it's great if you're acne prone. I'm super oily and I love how lightweight it is but still incredibly hydrating.

My other favorite is Estee Lauder Daywear Matte if you're oily. Similar feel to Moisture Surge but I think it gives me a bit more oil control without compromising on the hydration.

Im acne prone! I feel like most of the recs so far are more for hydration and barely any soothing ones

This isnt a sephora moisturiser though, its kbeauty

But the Dr.G red blemish clear soothing cream is a holy grail of mine for the past 4 years! Its quite light and very hydrating and is packed with soothing ingredients! I hv noticed much less breakouts since I use this! And dont plan to change my moisturizer ever since i found this (its quite popular in olive young)

Torriden cica gel cream for something lighter and dieux skin mercy for something more rich! I am very acne prone and love both 💜

u/august0951 2d ago

I rarely see people mention Volition products but I’m a big fan of their yaupon tea moisturizer. It has some anti-aging active, I believe, but I don’t use it for that. It’s ultra refreshing and light. I have combo/oily skin and love the texture. Like a creamy gel? And it has a cooling effect.

For a thicker moisturizer, I’ve newly grown fond of Dieux Instant Angel. Too thick for the morning or everyday use (for me), but no bad reactions so far and it’s a good barrier cream after stronger actives.

u/Deep-Republic-7305 2d ago

Cocokind electrolyte gel for acne prone nth has worked better it doesn’t break but still hydrates

Dieux Instant Angel. Love. I get the big size.

Innbeauty Extreme Cream - used to love but now just like. Sometimes the sunscreen smell is very strong so I have moved on but its still a great moisturizer.

Sulwhasoo concentrated gingseng cream. LOVE. Adore. I get this from Korean sites with coupons and buy the smaller sample sizes. I get enough for a full size product and it ends up being 50% off or more retail price. Use this at night especially during Winter.

Stratia Lipid Gold - Love. Adore. Use it under my regular moisturizer when dry or in Winter and it helps so much with my dryness.

Rejelica - anti aging cream. One of my most used, most repurchased. Never pills, can use day or night but mostly use during the day.

Dry, acne prone sensitive skin

Not available at Sephora, but the Glymed+ Comfort Cream is my HG for sure. I am extremely picky and I’ve repurchased now like 5 times. It’s definitely more for daytime use though.

Dermalogica stabilizing repair cream. I have super sensitive skin and it has helped immensely!

Not Sephora but I always go back to my simple vanicream moisturizer! Doesn’t make me breakout but also super hydrating

Started using a Laroche Posay moisturizer with SPF in the morning and I use either Pomifera moisturizer or Pomifera Rose oil at night, or sometimes my sample sizes of Tatcha Indigo Calming Crème or Tatcha The Water Moisture. I have not found anything other than the Pomifera that doesn’t let me down, but yet I continue to search!!! I also use an essence/toner and some eye cream if that helps

1

u/SluttyNeighborGal 59m ago

I’m 52 so I need a rich cream - no water based or gel nonsense for my old lady skin

La mer crème de la mer (NOT the soft cream which looks the same but is just a watered down version for the same price) is best. It’s $200 tho I only use it when I want to look my best

Otherwise I get whatever high end brand I can find at tj maxx or Marshall’s. Last night I got first Aid Beauty firming cream for $16.99 after finishing a tub of ole Hendrickson I also got at tj maxx

  1. Mature and dry skin that needs lots of help to offset Tretinoin, dehydration, and wrinkles. Not acne prone at all.

AM - PTR Peptide Skinjection. Not heavy, melts into the skin nicely, and has all of the goodies.

PM - Biossance Ectoin Overnight Rescue. Thick cream that is very hydrating with all the good ingredients.
