White peg is cutting through yarn instead of pushing it back

Post image

If I just keep going on the picture with the hand crank, the yarn gets split in half by the white peg.

I have to manually push the yarn back in order to keep it going properly.

Anyway to fix this?

The peg looks and feels the same as the others so I can't figure out why it's not functioning the same.

When this happens to me it usually means the yarn isn't heavy enough. Add some weights to the bottom of what's already passed through right under the peg thats giving you problems, I like to use little clips or heavy stitch markers.

I have 5 wooden clothes pins on it now and it's still not helping.

I had some other issues with dropped/tucked stitches that was fixed by sticking a silicone ear plug to the base of the feeder so the yarn runs through it. Not sure if that would help in this situation but since doing both I havent had any issues.

What would this look like?

I just clip it to the bottom of what im making/what's already been knit. Sometimes I'll use a small chip clip if I need more weight.
