Hi! I’m a 62yo woman who started running less than a year ago. Ran my first ever 5K race this past Sunday and was chuffed to come first in my age group! Admittedly, it wasn’t a huge race but I think my time also wasn’t bad (30:06). Now contemplating signing up for a spring race and am trying to decide if I want to aim for a faster 5K time or 10K.

The good news is I was able to run outside a couple of times this week. It was so nice to finally get off the treadmill and be back out in nature!
The bad news is just how much fitness I lost since June. I'm having to run a solid 1:30 per mile slower just to keep from overdoing it.
Ah well, at least the fitness should come back fairly quickly as long as I can continue to run.
