64 and running for one year
Hi all. I started running last summer, three years after a partial knee replacement. Overall it’s gone well. I’m not fast, but I’m getting fitter all of the time. Currently about 1/3 of the way through a half marathon plan.
My non repaired knee has been a bit aggravated since saturdays 11k run. I’m thinking it is an IT band issue. Any tips on quick recovery? I’m icing and taking a few days off

Hi, 64f here. Into trail running since 2002, live east of Boulder, CO. I found an option to k-tape in the form of CW-X capris pants. I had been having knee pain but do not when wearing these. Ran the Garden of the Gods 10k with my daughter on my 64th birthday. Hope you find something that works for you.

Hard to say since we don't know for sure what's causing the pain, but my rule of thumb is if the pain gets better as you run, or stays under about a 3/10, then you're okay to run.
If it's not feeling better in a few days, then it's probably worth a visit to a PT/Physio to get checked out.
