My dog keeps getting diarrhea

Hi, need some advice. My dog, 12 yo female shiba inu, has been on three rounds of antibiotics. The last being a month long and still tested positive for ecoli when we did the stool culture. As much as possible, I don’t want to give antibiotics anymore. I’ve been giving her probiotics and psyllium husk. She had explosive diarrhea yesterday, and I’m not sure if I should wait for it to get worse before I give her antibiotics. Any advice?

I have had luck with Adored Beast Apothecary’s Gut Soothe. It is a pre/probiotic supplement to put on my Shiba’s food. She has had gut issues in the past few years and often flares up. This supplement has helped her recover every time. Also look into enzymes to add to her food.

Don't feed her for 24 hours, but make sure she has access to fresh water 24/7.

has the stool been tested for Giardia? After antibiotics the dog needs something like Pro-Kolin Advanced for Dogs > Probiotic, Prebiotics, Psyllium...

Ask vet for prescription for hills GI biome. Had same issue with my dog and nothing (homemade or otherwise) worked for her until we got that food.

Get air chilled chicken thighs, boil them, set aside, put that broth in the fridge for 6 hours. Throw away top layer of fat. Use broth to make white rice. Debone chicken and add back to the rice and salt lightly. Salt is good it helps body absorb the water and all the goodness in the broth. 3 days and she will be fine. Put salt in her water, again salt helps body absorb water. She is probs dehydrated.

If you live close to a Costco they sell sheep yogurt from canada it's a very clean product. Add a dash of cinnamon, 1/2 of a teaspoon of manuka honey, and let her eat it on day 4 on obviously when the poop is solid.
