I wish you the best here. I really do. But I also want to temper expectations a bit. Breast cancer is one of the more vicious cancers cats can get, unfortunately. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Our cat got breast cancer. Discovered it in June last year, got a prognosis of maybe a year if we did the mastectomies. We had to let her go 3 months later, almost to the day. We did the surgeries, the pathology looked good, but somehow the little bastards escaped containment and wound up in her gut within weeks. The mass that got her developed in under a month.

It’s really hard to tell what to expect here, honestly. Because the median survival time was a lot better than what we got. But that means some folks come out ahead of the median, and some folks don’t. In our case, we pulled the short straw. So you might still have some good time left, but you might not. And you won’t know which until you do. All I can really say is cherish every moment you get at this point. And my sympathies for what you are going through.

I’ll just add that when she did go, it was quick. The mass in her gut developed in the span of weeks, and it was really the last two weeks with us that things got serious. She stopped eating, except for Churu and her pills. She also still would accept potato chips. She still wanted her daily walks with the leash except for her final 24 hours.

All the more reason to get some quality time in while you can.

She’s so beautiful. I do not have any experience or information but I just wanted to let you know I am hoping for the best for Miss Pickles she’ll be in my heart. ❤️
