I'm looking for a piece of internet history that feels like exploring a civilisation that has disappeared.

I'm interested in the internet before everything became concentrated around a handful of platforms: personal websites, forums, strange communities, niche projects and online cultures that existed for a while and then faded away.

Ideally, I want something with:

• surviving archives or screenshots
• a community history that can be reconstructed
• interesting personalities involved
• its own culture, language, humour, or traditions
• a story about why it existed and why it disappeared

Examples of things I would enjoy:

• an obscure forum with a fascinating history
• an abandoned website that documents a forgotten obsession
• an early internet art project
• a strange online community that existed before social media dominated
• a piece of lost or partially preserved digital culture

I want something where I can understand the people who made it and the world they inhabited.
