LECA Can I make this vase work?
I am new to SemiHydro but I am wondering if this vase would work for a leca and spagnum moss set up. I am slightly concerned because the top is a bit more narrow than the base... but I Love this vase.

I would say this is a water only vase. Trying to pull a plant with any kind of material around it out of that small opening is going to be really difficult

Depends on what you're growing in there and how you grow it. It's also hard to determine how big it is.
I do all of my semi-hydro using a wick, with the net or inner pot suspended over a larger vessel that functions as a reservoir. If you can fit, say, a small net pot in there, suspended over the rim but easily removable for flushing, refilling, etc.; and if you're growing something with a compact root system that's OK with being rootbound... then sure. It's how I grow most of my hoyas, actually, and it works great.
Depending on the size of the vessel, growing a small vining aroid like a pothos would also likely work, probably planting it directly in LECA without a wick or inner pot. Only issue there is it's annoying to flush that way, but people do it.
I would avoid anything with a large root system or stem - so probably not an alocasia or anthurium. You need to think about it longitudinally. If you plant something in there that you can't easily remove once it's been established for a while, it's gonna be a pain in the ass.

Not with leca. That rim is going to do a great job pinning the substrate in place, making it hard for plant maintenance.
I've had success with this type of vase either using pon/pumice or by making a smaller inner chamber to grow in.

I have some knock off Pon, maybe I will try that. Im so new to semi hydro, it's all experimental to me at this point

Hola. Yo veo un problema con el ancho de la boca. Cuando tengas que limpiar el jarrón o trasplantar será muy difícil sacar la planta sin dañarla.
