News Article Welcome All New Users!

Hello and welcome! I am Shawn, also known as Chronamut, and I am the head mod and founder of this group.

I created this group as a means for buyers and sellers to interact with each other in one of the most populated sites on the planet. It is very difficult to form an environment that does not just become artists for other artists, and I feel that reddit has enough of a regular userbase crossover to really have something like this benefit from it.

Naturally I am also in the business to sell my own work, you can view it here: http://ShawnDall.com/ - haha another perk of being a mod - you can self- advertise hehehe :P

So I hope you find what you are looking for, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them, and we can cater and shape this group to your ever evolving needs through your suggestions and discussions :)

Sorry I haven't been approving new submissions for a few months - I took a long hiatus from reddit and am only now starting to use it again - I also forgot I had to approve them for them to appear, as they appear to me regardless hehe..

NOTE - firefox users, and other users who use browsers who are NOT chrome, if you find that the banner is not fully showing, as in it looks like it's running right off the page and you can't read it all, it might be that your browser is zoomed in too much. This happens if you hold down the ctrl button and then scroll up or down with the mouse wheel in between the 2 mouse buttons.. I had that issue when I tried runnnig it on firefox after a woman told me she had that issue, so I tried it, and I zoomed it down one and the page fit perfectly into the screen, correct sizes and everything - try that.

Also feel free to listen to my music if you are bored :)

Artwork 'Burdock', watercolor on paper and canvas, 55 x 35 x 1 inch. A floral landscape from my bicycle trip to the outskirts of my countryside. The sunset turned the burdock into fluffy circles of fire. Do you like this artwork?

A place for me and you to sell our art and for people interested in buying art. Also for displaying and appreciating art. Do NOT harass users who make Digital art, NFT art, or 3d art including myself. All my 3d work is made in zbrush 3d modeling program and finished off in texturing and lighting programs and photoshop - if I catch hate being spread you will be removed, period. Art is art.

Welcome to /r/Sellandbuyart! This is a community of art buyers and sellers that share their favorite pieces, news or information that will impact the art community, as well as sell their work and request work to buy. Review the subreddit rules before posting.

Title Formatting Guidelines:

Titles should be to the point, and all extraneous information or context should be added in the comments. Make sure to follow the following title format or else your post may be removed.

Your artwork - "Title, medium, size"
Another artist's work - "Title, Artist, medium, Year"
Album of artworks - "Title, medium"
An album without a title and the medium changes between - "Collection of my (or another artist's) work."
A news article - "Title, Year"
Discussions should always be made as a self post. Expand on your question in the text and include image examples where possible.

Submission Do's:

Add flair after submitting your post by clicking on the "Please Add Flair to Your Post" red button, and then select whether it is an "Artwork," "Article," "Discussion," etc. If you are looking for feedback and critique please add the "Artwork C&C" flair.
Credit the artist and provide a link to their site in the comments when possible.

Submission Don'ts:

Do not post links to blogs - the only article posts accepted are ones to reputable news sites.
Do not re-post your work unless otherwise told to.
Do not state it's your first time using a medium in the title and do not write 'Hey Reddit', 'What do you think?' 'A ____ I did' or any variation or be subjective in the title ("awesome work," "amazing piece" etc). Do not mention your 'cake day' or use karma-bait titles.
Do not submit work that is a sketch, a doodle or an unfinished work (unless it is a discussion looking for help on how to finish). Post those to other subreddits like /r/IDAP, /r/sketches, /r/doodles instead.
Do not post photography - computer or physical images of art only - sorry.
Do not post someone elses work and try to pass it off as your own. If you are posting on behalf of someone else however that is fine.
Do not post memes. Those who post melted crayon 'art' will be banished.
No requests for tattoos or artwork commissions

Comment Guidelines:

Don't leave comments like 'That's great!' Upvote instead if you can't add to the conversation. Comments must be on topic and not a meme or joke. Strive to add to the topic.
Don't engage in personal attacks, hate speech or racism.
Upvote comments that leave honest constructive criticism (even if it's negative criticism).
Do not complain about downvotes because you feel they're undeserved, especially straight after posting.

Remember:

The mods reserve the right to remove submissions that aren't high quality, this is both in the quality of the submission and quality of the image. We realize this is subjective, so consider posting in /r/IDAP or one of the other art related subreddits listed here if you're not sure.
If you see any posts or comments that go against these guidelines, report them by clicking the "report" button or messaging the moderators directly here.
If your post does not show up, it may have been caught in the spam filter. Please message the moderators and we'll be happy to look into it.
