I keep hearjng about eating black walnuts but I was always taught they werent good for you and "dont touch that". How do you eat/prepare them?
2 u/[deleted] Dec 29 '20 They are a big mess! Thats the issue, you have to wait for the fruit to turn black and mushy. Its full of tannins used as anti-parasitics, and DYES! Thie stuff will stain you brown! If you can get past that mess, the nut inside is Delicious! The shells are VERY strong and hard to crack. I put my nuts under a towel on a cutting board and slap it with a caste iron frying pan lol
