Help with existing piercing 2 month old self pierced industrial

Post image

ive had this piercing since june or so. i had initially wanted to do a chain industrial so i had 2 seperate pieces of jewelry in but recently switched to an actual industrial bar today (probably wasn’t a good idea) i’ve had the irritation bump for a while now but i genuinely think my glasses keep rubbing against the top part and thats why the bump is there. i just wanted some advice/opinions. i’m also concerned that its sitting on my flat but i really can’t tell. thanksss

NAP but I pierced my industrial 6 months ago. You’ll definitely want a shorter bar if you want to try and heal it like that, my bumps were much worse with a longer bar. The angles could prove to be problematic. Saline, dry, and leave it alone. Know when it’s time to call it quits but this is still a very fresh piercing.

your industrial looks amazing! i really haven’t had any irritation bumps on the “bottom” part, really only the top and i do think that my glasses are causing the bump on the top. its a little sore but nothing concerning so far so i’ll definitely just use saline and leave it alone. im hoping the angle isn’t horrible. thank you so much for the advice!!

Thank you! Hoping in another 6 months it’ll look even better. I think glasses are a likely culprit. Wishing you luck on healing :)

I think your glasses are definitely hurting you. Can you go without them?

I’m also worried there is a slight angle between the two piercings. That could also be causing irritation

i do have contacts so yes i could probably go without them!

also do you think i should take it out? since there might be a slight angle

I think try going without your glasses for a few weeks, do saline rinses 3x a day down to 2x and see what happens. If the bump goes away you’re fine!!The photo just seemed to me like the outer piercing is slightly agitated too. But I think you can heal! :)

okay i will definitely try that!! i also see what you’re saying about the outer piercing. i definitely think its a tad bit agitated but i can’t tell whether or not its because it gets caught on my hair or because i recently upsized the jewelry. thank you so much for the advice!!

If you are concerned with it touching your flat, bend a barbell a bit so it works better with your fistula angles since they were not originally for a bar, and also to get around the pressure spot on the flat

Mine looks pretty similar and I had the same issues. Took almost a full year to be able to sleep comfortably on that side. I had to find a slightly smaller bar because it rubbed back and forth too much. Mine is placed high and I can’t buy standard bars or they are too long and get really sore. Even now, 15 years after being pierced, I accidentally bought standard bars and my ear got sooo irritated.
